Why 4 Guild Charter Signatures?

I am actually having a couple of issues this week. Why do we need 4 Signatures? Has anyone tried to get 4 signatures? No one will sign, and if someone agrees they are from the Wrong Server. 99.9999% will ignore you. What is the purpose of the signatures? The other problem or annoyance is the Forum offers you to switch character, but I can’t. So, this is not the toon trying to get a Guild, they are on a different realm. And the Forum will not switch no matter how many times I tap the picture. But ugh! Why 4 signatures?

Probably to curtail the proliferation of single person guilds for extra bank space. I know everyone okie dokes it anyway but I’m guessing the number would skyrocket if they took away the barrier to stop it.

On a basic level, I imagine it would cause a data storage problem.

Crazy that a social feature in the game requires you to socialize to participate in the creation of a social group.

Guilds are meant to be a social thing, like a party that you continue to play with more than the rare occasion.

Making a guild just for yourself is permitted but wasn’t the original intent, mostly those personal guilds became a way for new players to get some extra gold because people would pay them to sign the charter so there’s no real reason to get rid of something like that.

Bribe them a healthy amount of gold and they will sign

Took me 15 minutes to fill a guild charter with a 2k gold tip (Or higher I can’t remember).

Whispered a bunch of random folks in Org/Stormwind and received either “Sure” or dead silence.

I would ignore you too with that attitude.

You asked why it needs four signatures, I gave an answer. Not my fault you didn’t like the truth.

I whispered Hi and waved and they just fly off. I announced on Trade and nothing. I tried Storm Wind, Goldshire, Dragon Isles (2 Places) Oribos. a couple tried to sign but were wrong server. Everyone else walked/flew off or ignored. I have a toon on a dead Guild for years, but it is locked so I can do nothing. I wanted the perks

Eh. This is less of an issue now that we have warbanks. Although I do think guilds as a concept is somewhat outdated. Guilds really should transition to something more modern. Some sort of combination of comms and guilds such that you can be a member of multiple guilds would be nice.

We already have a million existing guilds. Just use one of them.

Make an anti-social guild called [Ignored] the only membership requirement is all members have to be on the ignore list of every other member.

Would make guild chat fun.

This is bad attitude:

I read what you said and answered your question.

Perhaps try playing on a populated server or just join a real guild.

hahahahaha If toons could smell I would wonder if my toon needed old spice deodorant.

Offer gold for signatures.
I did this way back in the day to create my personal guildbank (that got destroyed by Blizzard but I digress)…
Also try during busy times – weekends or during evenings.
Try in Dornagal

Because you and those 4 make a group of 5, the same number you need to run a dungeon. Coincidence?

Could be…could be.

Guilds are cross server now, so I’m not sure why signatures aren’t.

What you could try doing is putting some gold in your warbank, make a character on a populated server like Stormrage, run to the bank, grab the gold and get a guild charter. Get your signatures from the populated server and once the guild is formed set up the recruitment so you can add your alts yourself to transfer ownership to whichever character you wanted.

I just offered 5k gold for signatures and I got them pretty fast
