Why 2H Weapon As Resto?

Why does the game keep giving me a 2H weapon for drops? Shouldn’t I, as a rest shaman, be using a shield in one hand for the armor?

Back in the day it mattered, not so much now. Especially in pve.

I think its that the total intelligence or mastery or whatever resto is supposed to have registers higher on 2Hs as opposed to giving you half of the combined 1h and shield since its doing 1 loot at a time.
