I wouldn’t count on seeing transfer until there are super low pop servers that need to be merged/closed.
Part of me hopes they do open free xfer from big servers to smaller ones, just to see how many players forgo the service.
I’m not convinced a ton of players want to leave the popular realms, they just hope others do.

IDK about everyone else, but I will 100% transfer off of mine. This was a server I was told to move to in order to AVOID ques.

This is something that has to be calculated and done intelligently. Making knee-jerk decisions based off of generally uninformed forum posts would be an objectively terrible idea.
I would 100% transfer. I also don’t have a TON of work in my character, just enough to be annoying. Its mostly because this start has split up my core group of friends. Part of them were able to log on early with 0 queue and have 24+ hours in their character and refuse to leave because a full day of work is a lot to abandon. The others work all day and haven’t been able to get on at all and are switching to various places. Its split up a lot more groups than just mine and I know a lot of people would all switch to have one cohesive server and, you know, be able to play an MMO with all of your friends.
Because it’s going to be a Paid Service six months from now…
Blizz has to get their micro transactions somehow…

I agree with you there. But I also agree with the post saying people will just shat all over whatever blizz says anyways. I mostly just like to know why they are doing something or that they have some kind of plan in place, but I understand this will never be enough for some people.
There is absolutely a precedent for free transfers off of heavy realms or realms with large imbalances…so I think it’s a likely approach we’ll see used. I don’t think we’ll see it 4 days into a launch, however.
However…the people intended to take those transfers rarely avail themselves of them. Some do, sure…but a lot do not.
Let those people suffer then I guess. A lot of us got duped into switching only to face massive queues anyways. But I feel if they give us a way to get OFF of those servers for free and people still don’t leave then they can only blame them selves. The main reasons are they want to play with their friends, which they can all switch free, or that they don’t want to start over, which again if you switch free you don’t need to.
Step 1: Blizzard mentions there will be long queues on certain servers.
Step 2: Take Blizzard’s advice, don’t reserve name. Wait until new PVP server(in my case Incendius) gets released at launch.
Step 3: Create character on Incendius, try to log in any time after 3PM.
Step 4: Queues.

Im gunna go with no transfers… Reroll and accept u dont get to keep anything u got on the packed servers… its all because u went to a streamer servers… its actively your fault. Accept it and move on or… Accept the Ques and again… move on… lol

Blizzard didn’t force you all to roll on one server but even after that you guys asked for more to come to your server.I have had zero queues and now all you players who waited for others to transfer are continually whining for free transfers.Quit whining and enjoy what you created.
Heres how this is going to work friend. You are going to come onto the forum every day and complain how Herod has a 15k que. Blizzard is going to wait till Phase 2 and then a week before layers get removed announce free transfers off Herod, Whitemane and Skeram.
The reason its going to go down like this is blizzard is not going to shift resources to give free server transfers on a 4 day old game. They would rather sit and waste YOUR time, in the hope that inconveniencing you will force you off the overpopulated servers. The sooner you get this, the sooner you can move on and either quit, or move servers.
I’m not on any of those servers. I switched off when they told us the first time. Which is why I think its botched on their end and they need to fix it. I switched to the lowest server I could at the time. And at this point I’ve already switched again to a server I can actually get on, but their terrible launch has split my group of friends. Some of them were able to stay on Fairbanks because they could log in in the morning and they put in 25+ hours already and don’t want to switch. The rest of us could barely log in. Half of us switched and half of us didn’t (one person rage quit). They need to fix this.
it seems they want you to just reroll on a lower population realm at the moment, the only thing i can think of is they still dont know how many people will eventually quit.
Either that or they are worried about so many people transferring off that it causes queues on another server. If they gave the 3 or 4 BIG realms 3 or 4 options to move to though. I guess all i can say is GL and wait it out.
My guild moved day 2 from Incendius to Smolderweb after seening 10k queues. We havent had a queue yet. Even though we are EST guild on a PST server. Hasnt bothered us a bit. We have been very happy with the move
