This can be a character who’s absurdly powerful, whose character arc was the most satisfying, or simply someone whose appearances on-screen make you feel a little rush of excitement every time you see them.
I’m only curious to see which characters appeal to people and why! No need to debate people’s personal preferences or state that you “don’t have a favorite, but [you] DO have a least favorite”. Negativity in this thread is best avoided.
For me personally, one of my favorites has to be Alexstrasza. Dragons are cool, epic fantasy queens with magic powers are cool, and her overwhelming kindness and gentle guardianship over her flight and Azeroth is very appealing to me. She took her revenge against her WCII jailers in the most bad-sass way possible, but then turned around and forgave the orcs of the new Horde in favor of what’s best for the world. 10/10 Character, 10/10 Mommy.
Ranking high up there as well has to be Sylvanas. Surrounding story aside (which I am not happy with, mind you), watching her gloat and act like a smug villain, even around her own allies, is just the height of black comedy for me. I see a lot of her Cataclysm characterization as a satire against the concept of “honorable war”, which in my opinion is an oxymoron.
Garrosh and Broxigar rank high up there too, but those dudes are a given. RIP my big boys, they both deserved more than what they got.

Hard to say, for me it’s a tie between Rastakhan and Bwonsamdi.
Edit: Zul’Jin. His tenacity, his unyielding spirit and that he fought for his people til the very end. A true hero and legendary warlord, truly inspiring guy.

Coolest? That is a hard one. My default answer and first that comes to mind is: Muradin.
I played WC 3 a whooole lot. I loved the Mountain King, and Muradin. He was good natured, wise, but too trusting, yet still brave. And unlike most WC 3 characters, he has not been polluted or perverted.
Thrall, Kaelthas, Sylvanas, Jaina, and even Maeiv have had laughable and head-twisting personal stories that are ridiculous, and their charm has faded in my eyes. The story has been so warped, they lost some luster. Not Muradin… every time I see him, I want to pick up a hammer in each hand and lumber into battle!
The Mountain King’s dialogue is just awesome in WC 3. It is very inspiring.
“Alright, who wants some!”
“I’m coming through!”
“There’s nothing more motivating than fighting with a bad hangover!”
Garona is a close second. She is another character that I just love working with. She is the coolest Horde character Hands down, and she is barely in it. In fact, I would not have considered a Horde character until BfA. I want to cause trouble with her.
Maiev gets honorable mention. Broxigar too.

I liked the old blood knights and the quests they had, but they got allianceified

Zul’jin hands down. He was tortured by High/Blood Elves, he cut off his own arm to escape dem, his mortal enemies now fight alongside de Horde, he spits on de Horde, he hates you… he hates all of you… and he ultimately died fighting for the national liberation of his people.

I feel ashamed to not put him on my list!

Probably Khadgar. Working with him was the only highlight of Warlords for me. Medivh if he was ever around, neat design.

Thrall’s gotta be my big one, even if he’s been depowered in recent years. Also a big fan of Illidan’s Legion characterization, especially when he resisted Xe’ra’s unwanted advances. And I can never forget the imposing figure that is Deathwing back in Cataclysm, even if I didn’t play back then he was very omnipresent while I watched my friend play, and of course that beautiful cinematic.

Illidan Stormrage. When I learned that Illidan was going to come back in Legion I cheer very loudly and the Nighthold end cinematic is my favorite lore moment.

The coolest character? Vozul of course.
Besides that it would probably be Jaina purely on a character design perspective.
Her mage/admiral costume is really well thought out.

I don’t even care that they’ve spoiled her.
Yrel, hands down.

Ooohhh coolest character, this is actually a toughie one for me. It’s always changing from “THIS GUY IS THE COOLEST! No wait! THIS GUY! No wait! THIS GUY! No wait! …” For now I’m going to have to go with Kael’thas.
He led his people through genocide, enslavement, set up to die, then imprisoned for surviving, and still led them out of it alive. Despite him getting forced villain batted in the most non-sensical way possible, to which I mark as the greatest sin in Warcraft’s lore, he is still way up there for me to be mentioned as #1 for now. I’m super excited to see him, and really hoping he gets redeemed in Shadowlands FINALLY! After about 13 years!
That and to me Kael’thas campaign was the best for both WC3:RoC and TfT. Slightly bests Arthas’ campaign for me.

jaina to me, the amount of love that was put to her model is amazing.
like if you work on 3d like me you can see the amount of polygons and details that was put into it, and the textures on it.
ice spells are cool, flying duthman is cool and most of her story is a tragedy. but then i realized that it was a comedy ok sorry for quoting joker i could not miss the chance. but yeah, most of it has been compelling to me.
Then from a purely character design lor’themar is a second, third valeera.
and fourth calia.
i believe that character design is crucial.
i hope we see more of that in the future.
Tyrande and varian they both have a lot of cool moments

Sylvanas was the first WoW character that would make me really excited when she showed up. Her depiction from WC3-Wrath is honestly in my top 5 fictional characters ever.

Nazgrim was fun to watch through the expansions, fighting beside of us through a few zones and seeing to rise to as high as general was a treat. When I was doing SoO, his speak to the Horde side was great. There was no hate for you standing against Garrosh, you were just doing what you thought best for the Horde, and so was he.

Sylvanas WindmotherFcrunner, the banshee queen, the dark lady. her tragedy is the most humane in all of wow, bfa has managed to tarnish her but she will always be the one who defied her condition as a monstrosity.
in second place Kael’thas with illidan
third Arthas and kil’jaeden.

I liked Arthas the most I’d say
Tyrande minus all the embarrassing moments would be pretty cool too

Ah. I am glad you enjoy the notion of death coming to the high home of elves.
The scorching and abuse of souls.
It is oft repeated, and rarely dull.

Well… as a villain. Not as someone who is later redeemed and forgiven for his actions
