Not much different then greater pyro mage or destro lock last patch

The way it should be and the way it is are so far apart.

I don’t believe they should release an unfinished product, the reality is they always do and they use the player base to test it.

It’s like you go to the Ford dealership you looking at the new Ford F-150 on the showroom floor.

Only thing is it’s got 4 flat tires that what PVP got right now is 4 flat tires. It should be an easy fix, but a dealership keep looking the other way AKA blizzard

I’m having a blast in battlegrounds. They made gear actually matter. Those people showing up with 10k hp are going to get smashed because they need to be punished showing up to BGs without proper gear.

They need to set an iLvl limit of at least 100 for BGs.

Agreed. Combat feels much more “snappy” and responsive than before, and healers actually die now. PvP has a more “fluid” feeling to it now, especially with burst CDs no longer on the GCD.

As for undergeared people getting destroyed? That’s really their own fault for not playing the game/not having some gear (if it’s a fresh alt, that’s a different story and I can somewhat sympathize).

I mean, it’s kind of weird to think undergeared players need to be “punished.” I’m also not sure how really bad gearing options are their fault.

A LOT of people are returning now and will obviously not be in mythic ilvl gear. BfA wasn’t a very popular expansion. There’s probably a lot more undergeared than fully geared right now. Even once the pre-patch event starts there won’t be a reasonable way for them to catch up in ilvl, azerite and essences in such a small window before SL launch.

It’s basically currently you’re either already geared and good to go to enjoy pre-patch PvP, or you might as well just not bother. Only exceptions might be if you have friends that want to chain run you through M+.

Ive found that all its done is to make the already annoying Frostmourne alliance premades even more annoying.
And then on top of that add the ridiculous burst ranged dps of some specs, it just adds to the pointlessness factor that was already high in a lot BFA casual bgs.

There’s been countless threads over the months about people complaining about undergeared people showing up in bgs taking up slots and just basically being useless. LFR has a gear limit, BGs need it too.

Also, the majority of people I been getting groups with are like iLvl 115ish.

115ish is BG geared players. You know, those who prefer not to do pve, and it works fine.

Yeah, and you get people showing up with legit iLvl 60-70. I’ve seen half the teams being people with 10k hp and they just flop over against premades of iLvl 120+ people. I can kill somebody with 10k hp on my holy priest in 4-5 casts.

Yea, that’s gonna happen during pre-patch. I don’t think the ilvls will be quite as wide when the max level is 60.

prepatch is used to get excited with teaser lore of the new xpac. Never once was prepatch about fine tuning anything

at the start it doesnt look so bad ilvl wise comparing how much stats difference the actual ilvl is currently.

However the last 3 xpacs had a problem with new patches ramping up the ilvl of the next tier to some really dumb amount, they should never make the heroic raid of the previous tier obsolete at the very least like they had been.

Tried a game on a 117 resto druid with 25% vers for the hell of it.

Some of it was alright, but other team had a ret pally that auto-won if he got on you. I could be in bear, start at full health with DR CDs up and all hots up and I would just be dead in seconds. Hope whatever TF that was involved multiple semi-long CDs or something.

It’s like Ion wants this game to be a KMMO. WoW used to be praised for it’s gear not being insane and KMMO’s made fun of for their gear disparities being absolutely insane. In tera, if you were using a t2 weapon with full t1 armor and your enemy had full t1 armor/gear you would kill them in 3-4 hits while they’d do 5% of your hp per hit.

WoW is now at that state, and the fact there’s people defending this blows my mind. WoW was never this “gear rules all, if I’m higher ilvl you literally can’t fight me regardless of my skill” until this very patch that removed scaling. Where did these KMMO players suddenly come from? Who knows - but it’s absolutely NOT the majority and not the player base that should be catered to so heavily by Ion.

Can WoW go back to being a good game where gear advantages exist, but are easily overcome with skill instead of “you literally can’t hurt me and I kill you in 3-4 attacks” please?

Heard ret pallys were insane atm. That would explain it. The ilvl is fine to bg with.

i am 128 and 34% vers baseline on a monk and I get shredded too if a ret catches me with my pants down too (no trinket and they have cds).

Like it’s funny you think pvp is a main factor in any of the decisions and not simply an afterthought, or else we wouldn’t have had to suffer through “organic” metas and things like pve trinkets.

It’s not the fact that things are broken, because with pre-patch it’s expected. The issue is that the game is going to be in this state for potentially months - we still don’t have a shadowlands release date yet. They should have held off on pre-patch given that there’s still no event, or at least picked and choose what came with it. (Disabling corruptions + giving the cosmetics early until they had a proper timeline for release)

You sound really bad at the game, OP.
