How in the name of the Dark Lady do you get lost in Undercity? It is literally just a wheel, and there are abominations all over the place to ask directions if you need help finding something for the first time.
I always hated Org and only went there when I needed to … which was rarely enough not to be intolerable.
One great reason for not going there is i didn’t have to deal with umpteen ‘kewl doodz’ posing on their oh-so-boring mounts usually just being obnoxious … thankfully they didn’t infest my favorite home Thunder Bluff.
Its been admitted by Blizz that the Alliance zones were worked on first. Horde zones were worked on last, hence why those zones are emptier, have less detail, and are barren (pun intended).
It sort of worked out because, if I remember correctly, lore wise, the Horde was barely formed at the time, and they were barely settling down and building their structures.
While I think more love could have been given to the world design on Horde side, it fits aesthetically.
I feel this way about Stormwind. Personally I love the pre-Cata Orgrimmar, though not because things are easy to get to (Thunderbluff & Undercity are much better for this. Just like Darnassus and Ironforge are much better for Alliance as well).
I feel like I’m the only person on the planet who loves Undercity. I think it’s got the most logical and sensible layout, and mostly things are close enough to where it isn’t much of a jog compared to other cities. You can walk through the entire place without getting dismounted, too, which is fantastic.
If the walk to the forge and back is bothering you, do what I do and set the home to Thunder Bluff. It’s a cheap 48 copper to take a flight to Ogrimmar directly, the bank/auction/forge/anvil are all within easy strolling distance, and you get to enjoy the wonderful aesthetics that aren’t caked in rust-shades of earth.
Though I’d rather have Ogrimmar than Undercity. No offense, but I cannot stand the entryways to the elevators being not kodo-accessible. That and the inner/outer rings just exasperate the travel trips.
your not the only person that loves undercity and a lot of people will begrudgingly say it’s the most logical as far as layout. the dislike comes from the fact that it has a learning curve. and it truly is the most efficient city with the flight/bank and ah in the center it means that no matter where your are in the city your always near all three. furthermore each zone of the wheel is correctly tailored to fit the zone so unless you’re being weird and taking herb on a warrior your gonna find the correct profession trainers in same quarter that you go to get class skills. the thing that really annoys players besides the complexity is the just getting in and out of the city there is only the elevators or the sewer and the elevator is super fast so its easy to miss it if your kinda zoning out when playing. and to get to the zepps is and extremely long run as you have to run across the full length of the circle in distance.
