Please, are you just switching the HUE in Photoshop or do you actually stop a second to wonder what looks good?
Warrior, Paladin, Hunter, Priest, Death Knight, Shaman, Warlock, Demon Hunter…
Not only are most of the sets this season really bad (aside from a selected few, shoutout Rogues and Warlocks for amazing sets if I may). All of these classes have poorly colored sets for the most parts or have them in the wrong place depending on the content. Mostly the PvP Elite sets, all of those classes have a godawful PvP Elite Set color, with the best sometimes being in LFR or in Conquest gear. Who decided that whoever would reach 1800 rating as a Paladin using light-colored abilities would get a bright green and grey set?
Even mages, I got mine to 1800, the set is Golden and Purple. Great color combinations for an Arcane mage, but the Mythic Raid version is Black and Red, why isn’t it reversed ?
I get that we wanna give some color diversity, but I assure you no Paladin in their right mind will actively put that set on 24/7. Also to me PvP is to impose on other players, Red and Black are an imposing color combination known to make people look tougher, even irl. Raid is like Roleplay, that should have sets with more colors, made to fit the theme. ect.
The problem we have here is that’s what those sets originally looked like but worse. That’s why I couldn’t understand why people were losing their minds over trying to get enough currency to buy this stuff. It was ugly then and it’s still ugly now and the only couple of exceptions would probably be the judgment set that every pallet and wanted right out of the gate, as well as the warlock set the rogue set and I would probably go as far to say the death knight set which wasn’t even a setback then. The better question is, why didn’t they make these look so much better and adjust the color schemes regardless of the fact that it was an anniversary nod?

I was half asleep as I was reading your wall of text and when I saw ugly and horrible colored class sets, I just assumed you were talking about the garbage at the anniversary event. Honestly, most class sets have looked like pure Garbo for several expansions now in fact, I can’t even remember one for Druid that I willingly want to wear other than the one that came from the class hall in Legion, so I guess almost 10 years now?
I think anniversary sets are great tbh, just that more color combinations should’ve came from them, like a purple Judgment set would’ve been nice, but still. They are mostly all great.
I just hate the TWW sets for the most parts. They gave Evoker an amazing set, on a class that we don’t even see the sets through the dragon form. Rogues got a great set, but there again the PvP Conquest set color is better than it’s Elite variant. Warlock got a fabulous set but color combinations could’ve been better across the board. Monk set sucks but in all of its suckness the best color probably is the PvP one, so eh. Warrior set is just sad. Paladin set got wings… are they chicken nuggies wielding Ashchicken or like wtf.
Hunter could’ve been good had they not made a set that clips through the arms with the belt trap, or that had bigger shoulders to match the massive head. The only Priest set that looks good is the Mythic Variant, they didn’t even give the PvP variant Purple light… hell why. DK has a PvP Variant as a Mythic Raid instead, and has a dog poop variant as PvP…
Anyhow.
Ironic to considering this is the expansion that’s gotten the most gear set. Just look at those little gem things whatever they are where you can go to capital city and buy something ridiculous like 18 different outfits and each one comes in like four different colors or whatever. It’s like they focused more on the cosmetics and less on the actual tier sets. But to be fair, I don’t blame them for putting a lot of effort into nothing since most people are just going to transmog their way into something else and no one will ever see the original set anyway.
Yeah all of these sets were unnecessary at best, but they will serve as more choices for other sets.
Tier sets just looks all awful. I don’t see the point of teasing sets if you can’t take criticism and change them before they release.
I can assure you no Pally likes the set. Or maybe some very far and alone ones do but eh.
Oh, I can guarantee that lol my paladin wears that dark purple hooded wrath set and has an option for the new anniversary set. To be fair, my paladin is an earthen dwarf and also looks really amazing in the storm bringer sets from that initial quest during early access.
Dk, Rogue and Pally are the only ones I like personally. The others have nostalgic value for some people and it’s cool they’re available for that reason, but were never what I was looking for in mog style. It’s the colors for me too, honestly. They just don’t fit.

The mythic paladin tier is clearly the original design while the 3 other difficulties are boring, monotone recolors.
Yep, even the PvP version sucks. Elite one the most out of all imo.
What’s sad is that a lot of the people doing PvP to reach 1800 do it because they just want the set and be done with it. I’ve seen a lot of people wanting to play pally in PvP be like hell nah, the set’s dog.
And that’s happening for every class, furthermore decreasing the amount of players in PvP. I personally get the set for all of the classes I find pretty every season. So usually 4+.
I got Mage this season because it’s what I main, I’m gonna get Warrior because that’s my second main, I got hunter because they were broken so they looked fun to play, and Rogue cause it looked actually decent. But aside from that all other sets looks totally uninteresting to me and even Warrior’s is absolutely disgusting and Hunter doesn’t look good either.
