Who wins against the most classes in pvp?

im thinking soul link warlock.

what spec / class do you think has the most favorable matchups vs all other classes?

like who would win vs the most classes?

You already named it. SL warlock is a niche spec that is THE undisputed king of duels. It is not, however, the best team oriented spec so… working as intended. :sunglasses:

Yeah, i never liked it personally, as you miss out on the range talents in one tree or another. I loved Conflag too much.

well i have a plan for leveling .

straight affliction till 45 then soul link (MD) imp succy spec with 5 improved corruption. then fill out the rest with 2 in imp life tap and then the rest in destruction to get shadow burn and 2 in improved lash of pain talent at 60.

i should be able to go and go and go at ease till i want to stop.

Edit: forgot to say ill be on a pvp server as a gnome warlock (ewww i know i wanted to be undead but noooooooo someone in the group wants to be a paladin) so fighting undead pvp opponents will be easier for me.

This character was a day 1 character on drak’thul in classic. It was my main all the way through classic and i had pretty sweet gear compared to other people.

Locks are pretty good pvpers in classic and I won a ton more than I lost, but for a duel a good rogue, decent hunter, or especially an undead shadow priest will kick your butt. The undead shadow priest could be under geared, under skilled, and still you have little chance.

My first alt was a druid and i always thought if i could get him as geared as well as my lock he would have been better in 1v1 in classic. Especially in a BG setting when the other person did not know you were there.

i was a lock at the end of vanilla and diddnt get to 60 till 2 days before tbc came. diddnt get to go against the fabled undead shadow priest.

i cant wait till i do!

Let me know how that works out for you.

i got a plan for them…

felhunter …OF DOOM along with drain mana .

Edit: ever seen a caster try and duel just your felhunter pet?

they lose.

If you know that you are going against an undead shadow priest than it would be good to have out a fel hunter. However, if you are in a BG and come across one you probably have your succy out for the charm effect, since charm is better than felhunter against every other class.

If you keep a fel hunter out then you will be average against shadow priests, but then you lose your advantage against every other class.

Troll shadow priests are probably the laziest winners. Hunters are also pretty dumb too. Warlocks are really only good when they get a bunch of gear, but then they are dominant.

dont have to have the pet out cause you can insta summon one to 1v1 the caster (mage warlock priest ele shamman) we are talking about 1v1 anyways.

just imagine a break in the war and out comes a shadowy warlock with shadows hiding what could be any minion ready to leap out and do the masters bidding, and a undead shadow priest comes out.

1v1 it would be a good fight.

It would be a good fight in the same sense that Mike Tyson verse Marvis Frazier was an entertaining fight.

I am sure I beat some shadow priests back in the day, but in my extensive classic experience is that shadow priests are 100% the worst matchup that you have as a lock. You will not want to face them and will end up running away/regrouping in BG’s when you see them.

Warlocks kick butt verse every other class/spec. I had as much hp as our main tank, and even more usable HP when soul linked. I had the best PvP CC spell in the game with deathcoil, i had a pet that could CC. I had good burst damage, excellent damage over time, etc.

Screw those shadow priests though, they get you almost every time.

i look forward to the challenge.

if its red (or purple with a RED name over it) its dead!

SL lock is undisputed 1v1 meta. The question is: Orc or UD?

What makes undead shadow priests fabled? The aesthetic and reputation, like undead rogues?

I remember pvping in Vanilla alongside a Night Elf shadow priest and he was melting a lot of face. Just stood in the middle of WSG while everyone did their thing. Legendary.

I wouldn’t say “bunch” of gear for SL lock. Once they get 5 piece of tier 1 they’re set and 2 of them are BoE. High stamina plus nice bonuses. Weak on spell power but it’s a tanky attrition spec anyway.

Undead. The warlock’s toughest matchups are other warlocks and shadow priests. Having wotf either gives you a 2nd way to get out of fear, or frees up a 2nd trinket, which is infinitely more valuable than a chance to resist stuns which isn’t controllable. Even more so when you consider that warriors and rogues are easy matchups for an SL lock.

Devouring plague. Plus WoTF is strongest racial in game. Personally, I still like Troll spriest better overall.

Priests get additional spells depending on their race in vanilla. Undead get devouring plague, which is a great ability for 1v1 duels.
