Who was Cenarius' girlfriend?

Considering Ancients also exist natively on Draenor, that is very unlikely.

So you have two planets with mysterious Life beings of great power (sporemounds, Cenarius) with relation to Wild Gods (Primal Gods of Draenor, Ancient Guardians of Azeroth) with tree-beings (Ancients).

And coincidentally, on Draenor, these tree-beings exist on the land that is the body of Grond (Blade’s Edge Mountains) with relation to the origin of Life of Draenor (Primals/Sporemounds).

We have an origin for Ancients on Draenor: Primals (Life) growing on Grond (created from all four elements infused into a mountain).

Naturally, if Cenarius (Life) were to bang a mountainous elemental woman (Therazane), Ancients could be produced.

That isn’t natural at all. I don’t know how you come to the conclusion that
Fleshy humanoid stag + earth elemental = tree.

And Cenarius isn’t equivalent to Primals or Sporemounds. That’s a really big reach.

The same way mysterious moon goddess + stag = centaur

It’s a fantasy game based on IRL cultures and myths. Two humanoid beings can produce monsters, two monsters can produce humanoid beings, etc.

On Draenor, an Elemental Mountain + Primordial Life Being = Ancients; on Azeroth the closest we got to either are one of the elementals and Cenarius.

It’d be fun if they did it this way.

You know, fun in the lore. Remember that?

Not even close man. If Elune is a humanoid in appearance, it makes sense that Cenarius is humanoid + stag. Much more than tree from rock + humanoid stag.

Not the same. They didn’t screw.

shrug Aphrodite was born from Ouranus’s balls landing in his brother Oceanus, doesn’t have to be screwing, just ingredients leading to a product.

Again, speculation. I remind you Zeus slept with people by turning into a variety of things, including a shower of golden coins.

Two humanoid beings (Gaia and Ouranos) produced monsters; another two (Medusa and Poseidon) produced animals.

Cenarius + Therazane producing Ancients is par for the course ancient myth.

Ah right. So now you go outside of wow to justify your fan theories. Im only presenting based on what we’ve seen in wow. Also you’re talking about the other way around. Screwing always leads to similar morphology combinations. I don’t care what not screwing leads to, because we’re talking about cenarius mating with a rock.

We’re talking about a magical centaur with a branch for an arm whose centaur son slept with a rock producing Mongolian centaurs and your concern is genetic phenotypic realism in possible future explanations?

Centaurs, the Habsburgs of WoW.

EXACTLYYYYYYYY it’d be hilarious they even have the chin!

Fun… in this forum?! Never!

We must hate everything like a real Blizzard forum. \s

So back to Cenarius being intersex, do you think he just blew his spores all over everything? Or did he pollinate himself?

Im sure we can look at the Everbloom for examples of evolution on other planets and make assumptions about Azeroth’s evolution as well.

I for one welcome Cenarius self pollination because intersex but magic.

What if he preproduced asexually through binary fission. He just starting sprouting centaurs and dryads one day. They popped out of him like Athena popped out of Zeus.

Doesn’t explain Dryads tho

Dryads have an intermediary step.

Cenarius may breed asexually and produce keepers of the grove, but Centaurs teach us that keepers of the grove produce sexually. Maybe one of them figured they could romance an actual deer, and produce male/female offspring. You know, for the sake of the species.

It would be less of a stretch, biologically, than a half-elf/half-stag romancing a rock princess and producing horsemen.

Canonically? Ysera, the Green Dragon Aspect. Presumably, like all dragons, she can take another form, and took that of a dryad to become the mother of Remulos et. al.

“What are you doing, step-broodmother?”

The dryads are nature spirits than manifest in physical form when they’re born. They likely hold the name Daughters of Cenarius because he is, lest we forget, a Wild God. And all Wild Gods have their domains, with his being nature itself. This would make any nature spirits, by definition, his children. Can he likely procreate in a normal sense? Sure, the centaurs and Zeotar show this clearly. But in terms of the dryads and the keepers, it’s likely they manifest through the Dream and he just happens to be the Wild God of those spirits.

And to be clear, a lot of the parentage and creations of the centaur, and Cenarius himself, are left vague. The whole Malorne/Elune thing is explicitly a tauren myth, and though he does call Malorne his father, it could very well be in the symbolic sense as opposed to the biological sense. Hell, we don’t even know if Zeotar and Therazane actually did the deed, given how dryads and keepers are born.

Man I wish they did more weird mythological stuff like Malorne/Elune, which isn’t even that strange. If you scratch past the service of most mythology you’ll find so many interesting things that get normalized for today’s audience.

It is also a night elf myth. How the two fell in love though is different between the two versions.

The Night Elves see Elune and Malorne as star crossed lovers. In the Tauren version, they hunted Malorne for sport and the white stag sought refuse in the moons light.
