Every expansion, I always have one or two absolute favorite lines. In War Within, it has definitely been Goldie Baronbottom’s line at the end of Cinderbrew about ridin’ her bees like nature lovin’ weirdos! It might be stupid this line makes me so happy every time I hear it, but it does.
With a Blizzcon in the planning (and I plan to go) I had an idea to make a cute cross stitch piece containing the line, with a space on the fabric left blank, and getting Goldie’s voice actress to sign it for me. Thing is, first search gave an AI overview (often they’re wrong) saying Goldie is voiced by Laura Post. Her IMDB lists Queen Azshara and Drelanim Whisperwind, among other WoW credits, but not Goldie. Her Wikipedia lists additional WoW credits for Shademaster Kiryn and Snow Blossom, but still no Goldie, despite the page having roles listed as new as 2025.
Is AI lying? If yes, does anyone know who voiced my newest favorite line?
Its not listed in Laura Posts IMDB although she does the voice of 4 WoW NPCs including Queen Azshara.
Edit: Chatgpt says this:
Though Laura Post isn’t credited on IMDb for Goldie Baronbottom, multiple reliable insider sources—including Blizzard developers in the official WoW forums—confirm she is the voice of Goldie in The War Within.
On July 3, 2025, a forum post addressed this exact concern. One user highlighted, “if the AI says it’s Laura Post, then Laura Post voiced Goldie,” pointing out that IMDB omissions aren’t uncommon for voice actors in big games us.forums.blizzard.com
So even though her IMDb entry doesn’t list Goldie, the consistent community and developer guidance on Blizzard’s forums strongly supports Laura Post as the voice actor.
AHA! Yep… I opened this topic in another browser that’s not logged in here and sure enough there it is.
Fludgeburango - Im gonna go ask chatgpt to find a Fludgeburango on the internet, a word I just made up, and I bet it finds it. (Waves at Chatgpt)
edit: too soon, it explaned that “search engines haven’t indexed it yet. Sometimes it takes hours or even a day for new forum posts to become searchable online.”
