With the case in mind that Blizzard seems to be really fond of Suramar style stories in all their expansions I have the high hopes that they might do it again and open a door for fans of Forest Trolls who don’t want theirn favorite rae to be portrayed as evil all the time.
What do you think? How should a possible future leader for them look like if they are not like Zul’jin or his leagcy in this regard?

Wouldn’t mind a High Priestess or something. I’m going to make a wild guess and think part of the Amani storyline will be trying to reconcile with their loa

If it is a Warlord again they might go for another round of villain batting.
It’ll probably be the warlord of the amani sides with the void and then there’s a small faction who wants to rekindle their connection to the loa and allies with players. Pretty much Suramar, Ahn-Kahet, etc
I’m thinking Zul-Aman will be a massive open area with a raid or something. Silvermoon will probably be similarly invaded and occupied by void forces or something.

the Amani had enough Ls so the tide might finally turn for them.
I mean blizzard rehashes a lot of the “rebels vs bbeg collaborators” storylines. I could see the same going for the same theme in Midnight.
Tbf I also see the same storyline playing out in The Last Titan with some of the Titan forged
Make the Reventusk take over the greater Amani nation by dint of being the only Amani tribe to be able to live and grow in relative peace and prosperity over the past 2 decades. if the Darkspear could go from refugees to slaves to refugees to being able to stand on their own, the nice boys of the forest troll world should be able to as well.
Especially if the ZA/Ghostlands Amani take another beating in Midnight.

I rather have the Amani not abused as sideplot villains another time. Make them our allies against the Void for once.

You do realize Blizzard only cares about humans and elves!
They don’t care about the rest, they just exist.
well they shouldn’t. You don’t create a world with dozens of races and only ever cater to humans and elves. Others have fans too.

Look at the previous expansions, and you’ll find the answer. Literally every expansion has humans…
The authors are boring if you only rely on humans and elves. Personally, I don’t like it, but there’s nothing I can do about it.
Some people are going to hate me for saying this
Put I partly blame the rise in popularity of Lord of the Rings since the movies came out. Nobody knows how to write anything that isn’t elf or human

No you are right. Blizzard copies Tolkien too much.
I think it has a heavy presence on fantasy but “Monstrous races have a right to live and maybe are even more moral than the pretty traditional races in some aspects” wasn’t common before that.
In all honesty, its probably just that writing inhuman races is hard and most fantasy/scifi writers aren’t that creative or good. For every Pratchett or Sanderson, you’ve got 100 wannabe authors writing bout how lord Goodington and lady elfbikini set out to kill goblins or demons or something.

I’ll do the even spicier take: the people who thought the Horde was cool no longer work at the company, and they’re terrified to write meaningful content for the ethnically coded races because they’ll be crucified for insensitivity.

I am not sure how Blizzard handles another troll tribe without showing them as losers. That is a huge misstep that could offend the fans.
The group that cares about trolls anyway. Willing to bet most people don’t really care what they’re killing and looting in game
Witherbark gonna Witherbark
Blizzard humiliated the trolls too many times. A big win for once would be nice.
I mean, I’ll be completely honest. I don’t personally care if we’re killing them or helping them
Makes little difference to me what happens to them. I’m not going to loose any sleep over it
