I joined classic because I want classic, but also joined classic because TBC is also also really super amazing like classic.
What I’m sayin here is that Vanilla and TBC are the two best versions of wow blizzard ever made, and here comes the selfish part; it’s because of how the classes worked and stats worked and how the classes played.
Wrath is decent and had a few things it did well, like removing some of the bad RNG from the talents, and stuff like that, but I disliked the way Wrath did a few things, mostly how easily AE became to use, and how sloppy you could be in terms of use of AE and how overly applied DoT damage had also become. Notable improvements of wrath are the best version of resilience, the best talent layouts excluding a few bad ideas line over abundance of +power adders, but changing armor pen to the Wrath version was a mistake, and so was mastery. I also forgot I like glyphs.
Well, I didn’t play Classic because I secretly hoped for TBC… I would have played Classic regardless.
BUT, I did have a little hope in the back of my mind that a wildly successful Classic would show Blizzard the value in creating servers for each expansion (through Wrath at least).
This is something that I’ve always wanted, and honestly could never understand why it was never done. It doesn’t cost much to keep a server running the previous expansion frozen at the last patch. I’ve often wanted to go back to a particular expansion and play the game as it was when that content was relevant.

can i have your gold?
At first yes but not anymore.
Imagine having any faith in their version of TBC after seeing classic vanilla. My god its gonna be such a buggy mess with their trashy re-engineered abomination of a client+ the flaws tbc already has
Their version of TBC will still be better than their version of vanilla
I went into this looking more forward to Classic than any expansions past it, but I’ve changed on that stance. The poor choice of 1.12 AV has still left me bitter. I REALLY wanted the original 1.5-1.7 version before it was completely changed and imo destroyed.
The way I look at TBC is…they can’t really make poor choices like that. There’s nothing in the expansion I look at and say, “They should have used an earlier version.” I know some people obsess over attunements or raid difficulty and all that, but I’m perfectly happy with 2.4.3 state of pretty much everything. Also, I miss flying. I love flying. Flying is one of the most fun things in the game.
Wasn’t secretive about it, was all for TBC more so than classic.
That being said, I was also a huge fan for classic to be released.
Not sure why, but I just assumed Classic would roll into TBC and WoTLK. If I had to guess it’s simply because those were the three best releases WoW ever saw and knowing Blizz ultimately just wants paying subs why would they stop at Classic, knowing so many would love TBC/WoTLK?
Based on what evidence? Their vanilla version was severly flawed. How will the TBC one be even remotely better? If they would just carbon copy it np. But they insist on their re-engineered version to make it work with bnet. Its gonna be an utter mess.
Based on opinions.
I should have worded it better.
Their version of TBC will still be better than their version of vanilla… imo.
ye thats fine, you are most likely wrong, but if you insist on it fine. Keep living the tbc is so much better lie. Its just another piece of cake with a different taste. And wether you enjoy one version over the other, all signs point to their tbc release being a phony cash grab, just like vanilla classic was.
It would be foolish to have any serious hope for a decent version.
I love chocolate cake. You might not.
That doesn’t mean I’m wrong. That’s the great thing about opinions.
I’ve seen countless TBC threads over the past 12 months. I can tell you I’m not the only one. If I prefer TBC over vanilla, than it really doesn’t matter what people say. You can write down all the negatives that TBC classic will still have, and I will still enjoy it more than I have enjoyed classic. It is as simple as that.
No you are most likely wrong. You have zero evidence or anything even remotely indicating that their version of TBC will be any better than Vanilla. If the leaker is to be believed (the one that named the naxx release) we will have till march for TBC. There is not even announcement yet. No beta unlike classic vanilla. Nothing. Its even less prep work than vanilla classic if the leaker is to be trusted.
Also you obviously did not understand my point. Idc if you prefer tbc more, im just saying their version of it will be a let down. Just like the vanilla version was a let down. Stop fooling yourself into thinking they will magically polish tbc classic into a gem after treating vanilla classic like some dirty rock.
You’re just trolling at this point lol. I see you in basically every TBC thread. No I am not wrong. I don’t need evidence for anything. TBC is way better than vanilla in my opinion. Do you understand what opinions are? I’m going to enjoy TBC Classic whether you think so or not.
That’s your opinion. It will be a let down for YOU. not for ME. soz but I’m still going to enjoy it. Cope
Can you not read? Its not about wether TBC is better than Vanilla… its the client itself. not the game.
Do you understand the difference? You are in every TBC thread too praising it. Which i disagree with but thats not the point at all.
Its not the game im worried about its the version they put out.
Just because you consider it a letdown doesn’t make it a letdown.
As far as not having a Beta yet and at this point in Classic players were already testing it, it’s important to keep in mind that Blizzard has already done the dirty work. They’ve said releasing TBC will be much easier than Classic was.
They also said sharding would be temporary in retail. How did that work out for you broski?
