Who is WoW made for today?

Yup, it happens all the time. Blizzard gave people the means to silence others on here. Over the pettiest of things with zero consequences.

This makes me think of Nicolas Cage.

OH good, you saved me some typing. So yeah, all this. Gen X here too. I dip into Classic when the mood strikes but don’t feel forced to.

seems these days wow only exists for those who are woke and or support rainbow cult, and soft anime weebs.

gone are days of savagery, bloodshed and ruthless things that youd see in well war… last i checked this is WARcraft not sunshine an rainbows craft but blizz is too busy needing to meet the desires of big pocket donors and woke isms instead of focusing and listening to their playerbases desires.

Technically this doesn’t group any generation together because people will call you a boomer just for disagreeing with them. It’s more of a way of signaling that you think we’ve evolved beyond a person’s take being reasonable.

Mostly used by people that are far too online. Saying “Ok boomer” is just telling people you really need to touch grass and see the real world for a day.

A retired Boomer here and I’m having fun as an open world solo player. My life is drama free and Blizz has done a good job of letting folks like me gear up to meet my needs. I see lots of people showing off mounts, mogs and other cool things from their raiding, PvP and other activities and I’m happy for them. This game is really good at accommodating so many different player modes and that is going to keep me subscribed indefinitely.

Tried Classic through Wrath and soloed one Ally and one Horde character just to prove to myself Classic can be done without joining a guild or doing group stuff. Did that, got the tabard I’m done.

No interest in the mini games Blizz is doing with Plunderstorm and MOP Remix but happy others are having fun and getting rewarded.

Quite a few people have responded to this right here. Can you elaborate? Like the others, I’m Gen-X, and I’m certainly not “forced” to play classic. I dabble with it every other blue moon when the mood strikes me but that’s about it. So where is this coming from?

I mean, you are here playing the game too lol.

It was not made for specific age groups, that’s ridiculous. I’ve played for 20 years met players and were in guilds with them
Ran instances with them for years from 16 year olds to 68 years old and all in between.

gen-x chiming in - I feel 0 force to play classic

There are exceptions to every rule. I’m gen x but I mostly play retail. But I would like to think on average more older people tend to stick to the classics while the younger tend to stick to retail and remixes. But I have absolutely zero data to back that up. But it’s probably true.

Im Gen-X and I don’t touch classic, sod or hardcore. The lack of quality of life improvements that are on retail is why.

I guess they didn’t want to out themselves by adding in Pearl Polishing Cross Clutchers.

Sorry. Just dealt with a dragon burning a village alive. Then I went off to kill a bunch of NPCs.

7/10 bait post.

Figure the dig at millennials not wanting to pay for stuff will trigger a few people at the very least

Let’s clarify one thing here, you want the game to be like the older version because of the nostalgia and how the community was like then. If WOW was like that today, we wouldn’t attract a younger population; we’d only be having Gen X and Boomers playing the older version. Most of my good friends that play WOW are Gen Z and they much prefer retail over classic. You have to realize that younger people are good with video games and technology, they can figure out WOW it’s really not that hard.

Clearly that’s not savage enough.

We need to be all savage, all the time.

We should be saying hello by punching each other in the face.
