I would unsub for flying but i’m paid up till 2020 so I just play less
There is a bunch of reasons i unsubbed because I feel BFA is a bad expansion and I am not having fun. But I would have stuck it out if flight was coming with 8.1.
It’s called massive entitlement
It’s called lazy development and is this just one example out of many in BfA.
It’s not a matter of just getting from point A to point B faster.
It’s a matter of it being okay to draw out the whole process to get to flying with timegates and developmental gates too.
It’s a matter of sucking all the fun out of it.
It’s about the mentality of path finder (just going to give it to you once you’ve exhausted all possible content & when we get around to it too).
Flying use to be something fun. You’d hit max level and you may need to grind to get some gold but then tada! You can fly. You could finally get to content that came out with the expansion.
Now flying is an afterthought put in months and months and months after the expansion come out. Sad.
You people that are unsubbing are the same people that will come back and complain about the reputation grinds for it, which you could of gotten exalted a long time ago if you did not unsub.
I’m fully convinced this “No fly no sub” movement is nothing more than a small forum minority constantly yelling.
I’m unsubbing specifically because of Zandalari actually. I do have the rep for it. I just need to wait for a raid to come out in 8.1.5 whenever that is. Most people had the rep months ago. This content lite expansion with a unrewarding end game killed a lot of momentum that could have been really good for WoW.
Same here. It seems to me that most of these rabid I MUST fly! people started in MoP. They never saw what flying did to the game in Cataclysm which is why they decided to turn it off in WoD.
For those unfamiliar, the reason Cataclysm exposed the problems with Flight was because Blizzard was forced to give it to us at the beginning of the expansion. Mt Hyjal, Uldum, and Twilight Highlands were all integrated into existing zones in Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. So Blizzard could not restrict flight like they could with Outland and Northrend.
The result was we flew everywhere. We’d fly to the quest giver(s), pick up the quests, fly to the quest area(s), do the quests, fly to turn-in. Wash, rinse repeat. There were whole sections of zones and enemies we just flew over.
But many people who never experienced that, or who want to ignore those of us who were there, it’s Blizzard “detecting fun” and having to nerf it.
People flew over Cataclysm because the expansion was garbage in the first place. Flight or no flight.
As for those wondering how long these posts will keep popping up my money is on Blizzard backing off the pathfinder requirements or the sun burning out. Whichever comes first.
I am simply unsubbed due to bad internet. Once I get an better one, I will be back. I hope that Blizzard does keep this not having to be subbedto use the forums, like why is that even an thing.
Hey there bud, we’re talking 11 mins.
Sorry but that makes those players outliers, most players dabble in a bit of everything. The backbone of any MMO is the questing / leveling experience, then the pursuit of player power through advancing gear. Find one MMO that doesn’t focus on that, I’m curious.
If someone wants to only PVP or pick flowers or pet battle, that is fine. But flight is designed as a reward for questing and world exploration. If people want the questing rewards, they need to do the questing.
Explore the zones, complete the major story lines, and get revered with every faction. Those things can all be done simultaneously through the leveling experience, with a little bit of additional leg work for exploration and reputations. Just completing all of the quest zone stories got me to revered with half the factions.
Complaining about such a basic requirement is really ridiculous.
My main account is unsubbed until flying is unlocked. I finished Pathfinder 1, then let my sub lapse. I’m playing on this second account with tokens only to play with my daughter on occasion.
I’ve been unsubbed since June, just after I bought 6 months. (Didn’t want it to auto-renew ) 3 months left, I’ll decide then, depending on whether there are any significant Enhance changes.
Flying is only beneficial to my gatherer.
No, I won’t unsub over flight or anything else. I’m still enjoying the game.
Nah, I play my main and that’s it these days. I preferred things the way they were back in Cata when we could fly while leveling. It just makes more sense that way rather than having to invent reasons why we forget how to fly in each new expansion. I still don’t have Draenor flying because I don’t find the required quests fun, so I am one of those people that will complain that it takes too much work when they do finally put it back in the game.
I realize I am on one side of the curve and Blizzard is all the way at the other side right now. Making flight available for a bunch of work is the middle ground.
Funny how people act like it’s near impossible to travel in BFA…
You can get your Flight Master’s Whistle in both main islands simply by fixing up the FP during your Warfront.
You can enchant your wrists to decrease the CD of your Hearthstone.
You have gold, use it for Flightpaths.
Harass your local Mage and/or Warlock.
When you pay my sub you can tell me how to play.
When you pay my sub you can tell me how to play.
At no point did I try to tell you how to play. The closest I ever said to that was “If people want the rewards from certain content, they need to complete that content.”
More power to you if you hate questing and open world exploring, but don’t turn around and demand the rewards from it.
No. You’re not, but you did jump right into condescension without addressing what is being said.
Why is it a reward now when it wasnt in the past, back before we had this “dev team”?
Not to quote a meme here but it looks to me like Velara’s style of play wasn’t a problem until Blizzard made it a problrm.
If they dont want players like that why not just come out and say it rather than adopting these passive-aggressive tactics to convince people to leave?
