Since we can post without being subbed (at least for the moment) how many people are unsubbed waiting for flight? Probably the biggest reason I am not paying (or playing) atm.

I find no flying one of the strangest reasons to unsub. The extra 10 mins a day you save is really what makes or breaks the game for you?

Ya, I canât really understanding not playing the game because of travel. You spend so much time in situations where you arenât on a mount it seems like it would have to be more of a protest than a real reason right?
Itâs not like flying would change any content. It just changes how you get to that content.
But to each their own! Iâd recommend not encouraging anyone to post without a sub though. Itâs not an intended situation and even though you are able to doesnât mean you should be encouraging it!

Having flight at this point would have the opposite effect of time-gating everything. More players would lose interest. Wait⌠what are my values?

I agree it is the strangest reason, along with unsubbing if Sylvanas is killed, but it does appear that people at this point have different things that keep them motivated to keep playing.
I just hope they at least got the first part of Pathfinder completed before they come back.

There will be requirements, so if you are unsubbed until they release it, then technically you will have to sub to earn the right to flight, and you will be behind the curve. You will also probably make a post asking for the requirements to be lowered because you just âresubbedâ and it creates barriers to new players or some other hogwash like that.

When I found out we are going to have to wait until freaking 8.2 to get flight back and finally have a finished feeling game experience where things are polished and finally in a good state, I unsubbed. If theyâd only made us wait to 8.1, I would have grumbled about it being too long a time gate, but I would have kept my sub going. 8.2 is just obscene.
And I donât even mind Pathfinder. They want us to do the content once on the ground before everything else? Sure, fine. I donât mind. Thatâs not really that big a change from how things were originally in BC & Wrath (and donât count Cata).
But we are now in the part of the game where weâre just doing endless WQ repetitions, going to M+ dungeons, and raids, and the only thing that not being able to fly if youâve already done your Pathfinder requirements is acting as a barrier to entry to getting to the content you want to do.
Itâs ridiculously stupid.
It makes travel more boring, tedious, and those are not good things for games meant to be entertainment, especially when the point isnât the travel itself, itâs what you do when you get to where you are going. It leaves the game feel like itâs unfinished and unpolished, like weâre just twiddling our thumbs waiting for them to finish the damn development of the xpack.
So, the time gate they have chosen is just obnoxious.
If my sub runs out before flight is back, I may just go. Iâm not paying for a degraded game experience if they want to leave it like that for horrendous amounts of time. The only thing it does is force people to consume content more slowly so they can give us less and have us swallow it, it adds nothing to the game, it actively detracts from the game, and itâs just there as a cost saving measure on Blizzardâs end despite the fact it worsens the game experience.
I can think of few decisions they have ever made, with the exception of trying to remove flight entirely in that WoD debacle that have ever made me more angry with them.

I think the whistle saves more time than flight. instead of having to drive, Bam, instantly at a flight path and on your way.

I can understand why people want flying mounts back when you jump off a cliff to mine a node that disappears when you reach it. If it werenât for the irritating obstacles, ground mounts would be more fun.

Lol I might unsub for one of the billion other issues. Flying is so minor it doesnât even register. If youâre unsubbing over flying you were likely going to unsub anyway.

I havent âsubbedâ for months⌠but not for flying just the next patch I just dont feel like playing wow atm /shrugs
I unsubbed when they announced flight was going away in Warlords with the full intent to never play again. I had only ever taken 2 short breaks during the 2nd half of Cata & Pandaria otherwise on 2 accounts Iâve kept open since 11/23/2004, and those were to deal with RL issues, not because I disliked the game. I resubbed in Warlords the day they announced theyâd be changing and putting flight back.
Flight is literally the only reason I have ever or really ever would consider unsubbing.
Their attempt to remove it and then to drastically reduce how much we get to use it angers me that much.
Itâs one of few things I can ever see that would make me want to unsub. I canât think of a single other thing that would ever make me want to unsub.
So⌠no, you arenât at all correct there.
Despite all the other issues they are having in BfA right now, I would have stayed subbed and give them a chance to iron it out.
I just can not support them doing something as obnoxious as what they are doing with flight to the game.

Flying is great, but only once you have seen everything. I find all sorts of things when I am on my ground mount. I think its a good thing honestly.

It is because flight is fun.
It has nothing to do with the fact you get from point A to point B faster.
It is just a cool and fun thing to do.
On our flying mounts.
And what is more ridiculous than a Dragon running around unable to fly anyway?
I have scores of flying mounts that canât freaking fly.
