Not just currently, but throughout the entire history of WoW, who is the most popular WoW influencer?
Who has reached the largest audience of WoW players? Which WoW player has influenced the game the most?

Probably Asmongold.
Gonna get a lot of different answers here. But I still remember Nyhm’s parody songs a lot of the time. So they’d be for me.
Asmongold, hands down. Like him or hate him, he reaches to WoW players of all spectrums, from people who play super casually, to the upper ranks of raiders. He has a massive, massive audience, and very little hair.
It’s Asmongold.
As much as people here hate him due to his stream persona, its Asmongold.
He’s recognized by people who don’t play WoW as “that WoW guy.”
I would have said Ion really. He is a player and he’s directly influencing the game. Am I doing it right?
your boy asmongold obviously.
I don’t know who it actually is, but it should be Kelani because that man’s voice could melt butter and his videos are always helpful and full of useful information.
I mean, I love Bellular, but the boy gets breathless and goes 80mph when he’s got a lot to fit into the video. Kelani keeps a steady, teaching tempo in all of his explainer videos, and his opinion videos are never hectic. Also, he helps me fall asleep when I’m suffering insomnia.
I vote Kelani.
I still listen to Nyhm every so often.
Cranius was where it was at though.
It’s probably Asmon. A lot of non WoW players recognize him through osmosis because of his popularity on twitch.
There are a variety of people who started covering WoW and have moved on to bigger fame afterwards.
Obviously friend and guild-mate Jesse Cox comes to mind.
He still plays wow a lot but the last time he made a video on wow was too long ago to remember, but he basically got his big break from the cata beta test.
After that, I would mention Athene.
Love him or hate him, I think he had a very big “influence” on the game in its early years.
Honestly, I look at him as the first gaming influencer.
He had an incredibly unique brand that still remains unique to this day (for sadly many different reasons) but I as a person would not be who I am without him.
His style of humor really led me to where I am, and most importantly he is what got me properly into Holy Paladin.
Neither of those two people may have commanded the audience some have thanks to Classic and improved media connections, but there are a lot of early influencers that set the stage for what we have now.
Even guys like Reckful and Sodapoppin should be looked at as a stepping stone for the guys doing it at the highest level now.
Definitely Asmongold, love him or hate him the man is ranked as one of Twitch’s highest streamers and the community knows him for mainly WoW.
Anyone remember the Paladin Athene?
Athene!! I think he was one of the first big influencers I started watching on YouTube back in the day, burning crusade era!
I discovered Jesse Cox from his Cataclysm Beta videos and have watched him ever since.
His Skyrim Lets play days were something I looked forward to every upload. I figured he was one of those seasonal WoW players, since he started only uploading WoW videos at the start of new xpacs.
Asmongold by a landslide.
Athene has gotten into a lot of trouble recently for view botting, and accusations of him running an actual legitimate cult centered around a pyramid scam.
But, other than that his old WoW videos were alright.
Yeah I’ve been out of the loop with Athene for years, it’s more of a nostalgia thing, brings me back to eighth grade not a care in the world watching his vids on YouTube
