Disclaimer: I know there is no one main character, and that the plot of all the games has always been largely driven by several primary protagonists/antagonists.
However, if we had to define a main character for the franchise - in terms of who has had the most story focus or who has been most influential in terms of lore - who do you think it would be?
I’m the main character.

I’m the main character because everyone knows me.
Thrall comes to mind as he shows up in all of the expansions to some degree or other.

The one who steals the kill on a potential raid boss.
Thrall.
His story has connective tissue to all eras of the franchise.

It’s Addie Fizzlebog? Think that’s how you spell her name. She’s the gnome hunter we meet!
Since this game is like lord of the rings and in lord of the rings the main character is a hobbit, it makes sense the main character in WoW would be a gnome!
The hero/commander/maw walker/champion

As much as I don’t like him as a character, it’s probably Thrall. Didn’t he have his own point-and-click adventure game before it was canned? lol
The Jailer
Afterall, he’s behind everything that’s ever happened. Right?

As soon as he left the Horde to “find himself,” my enjoyment of the character plummeted.

The player is.
Who is the main character in your life?
To be fair, he had a sense of identity about what the WarCraft franchise was all about. It’s been having an identity crisis ever since he retired.

In recent WoW, “the players” for sure.
Elder Ara says: The sacred words tell us that the First Ones placed waystones at crucial locations where they would one day be needed. The waystones would respond only to certain living mortals. The ones destined to save the realms of Death. The Maw Walkers.
So we were destined by the creators of reality to one day save it. That’s pretty main character to me.
In terms of established non-player lore characters, I’d say anyone around in WCIII who still plays a part in the lore today is a good answer. Thrall, Jaina, etc.
