Who is the Jailer?

Assuming that he’s someone from Lore that we knew.
Assuming he came into power sometime before Wrath.
And Assuming he would be someone we killed sometime Between WC3 and BC…
Someone who can manipulate Sylvannas (or at least someone who’d take an interest in her)…

Who might he be?

Was just discussing him in another Thread and it’s a longshot possibility, But:
Garithos!
Who wouldn’t want to see some insignificant worm like that become a final Raid Boss?

DISCLAIMER: I’ve been informed that, in order not to confuse the more humor-challenged amongst us, I must submit in writing when a Joke is intended to be a joke and inform you all that, yes, indeed this was intended to be a lighthearted diversion from all the hostility that’s present in the forums about who’s worse then whom and who got shafted worse then whom. Sadly, it still bled into this thread as well. But, what can we do but pity them.

He’s not.

He did.

He’s not.

Why on earth would a random racist who died barely a decade ago be the overlord of one of the major realms of the afterlife?

A new character

Why not? Introducing new characters is so boring.
Lets revisit old characters!

Because of Irony. It’s so unexpected and the least likely possibility that it would be to most logical choice.

A) This is not grounds for an argument. This is personal opinion.

B) This is an absolutely horrible take. We’ve revisited old characters almost every expansion. The two expansions before this were literally about revisiting past Draenor and a redemption arc for Illidan Stormrage.

Introducing new characters to a universe keeps it from going stale.

C) Blizzard has outright stated the Jailer is not someone we’ve seen before.

How on earth is that the most logical choice? The universe does not operate on subverting your expectations at every opportunity.

“Wouldn’t it be funny if Garithos was the Jailer?” isn’t an actual argument towards him being so. Do you have a REAL theory about why Garithos would be the Jailer? Because the Jailer’s been described as an ancient entity, and Garithos has been dead for a very short time in comparison.

So basically everything in your thread can be completely and totally debunked. The Jailer is the Jailer. He is not Garithos. He is not a character we have seen before. He is an entirely new character.

That’s a GREAT thing.

Geez, you have no sense of Humor or Wimsy, do you?

I wasn’t putting forth an argument for debate.
I was just naming off someone who’d be funny while listing off a couple of “what-ifs”.

Not every topic needs to be so damn serious!

Next you’ll say, “I was only pretending to be dumb!”

Also literally nothing in your thread suggested it was any kind of joke, so I’m not convinced. Your thread does not automatically become immune to argument or correction because you’re supposedly trying to be funny. Don’t backpedal just because you don’t have an argument.

Ok, Kira. Your inability to distinguish humor isn’t my problem.

Seeing as I prefaced it with a hell of a lot of assumptions followed by literally the most asinine suggestion sort of DEFINED it as a joke means that they joke is sort of on you for taking it so serious…

I mean, I literally didn’t even TRY to defend it.

That’s easy, the role of Jailer has to have been around for longer than Garithos was alive let alone dead. It couldn’t be someone from any of wow’s history.

Before you say it’s a role that could go to others, if they could so easily replace them then the Shadowlands expansion wouldn’t have even happened. They would have just turfed out the current Jailer for subverting the balance of the Shadowlands.

so far, not someone interesting.

I never make assumptions about whether or not people are joking, ignorant, or just not terribly bright.

Well, that depends on how the system works and who’s in charge (and whether anyone still has the power to change it)

For example:
In pirates of the caribbean, Davy Jones was tasked with Ferrying the Dead to the afterlife, but got all depressed and then went rogue. The only power that could stop him was herself captured and held prisoner by OTHER self-interested parties.

Emperor Lei Shen The Thunder King and the mogu, the mantid, Helya, Gorak Tul and the drust and the Heartsbane Coven so boring… let’s just have Eitrigg become insane and evil

And yet, here you are… :upside_down_face:

Alright, I’ll bend my rules, you’re not terribly bright.

As though I put any weight on the opinions from the Clown Party.

Come back when you think of an actual clever response.

Come back when you construct an actual clever thread.

We already know the jailer is older than the titans, this is as bad of a take as pyros theory.

Nope. Still failed. Try again.

Your Lack of Reading Comprehension probably contributes to your lack of a sense of Humor as much as your dull wit (or lack there of.)
