Who is the Azsuna portal supposed to be for?

No universal, Legion-centrally-located portal, but one way off to the side… why? For whom?

When we got wind of all the portals being removed, the question to us was, “Okay, really, what do you use the portals for? What practically are you missing by the portals being gone?”

So turn it around on the Azsuna portal… practically, why there and NOT Dalaran? Why does Azsuna demand a well-traveled hub while Dalaran, the place within shot of most dungeons and quests, needs to be on a cooldown?

Asking for a… no. Asking for me.

They took a good thing, the portal system, and made it as inconvenient as possible.

Because having 2 Dalaran Portals in the Portal room would look weird, so they settled for Azsuna because it kinda makes sense and it’s the closest zone to Dalaran, I bet.

This was because one of the devs hit Azsuna on their dartboard

Honestly they probably didn’t want two Dalaran portals next to each other, but I also think that the Legion portal should’ve been to Dalaran while the Northrend portal should’ve been to Wyrmrest or Warsong Hold / Valiance Keep.

I think their rationale is, there’s no reason to have a New Dalaran portal, since if you’re 100+ you have the ability to get a New Dalaran Hearthstone.

No idea why Azsuna.

Because Azsuna is prettyful and rainyful

Can see about having the hearthstone, but it’s on a 20 minute cooldown. And if you’re actively doing things in Legion content, it’s very easy to need to head through Dalaran much more than once every 20 minutes.

I’ll bet you at some point “We need the help of the azure flight! Go to them and grind reputation with them for 3 months!” will come up. Pretty par for the course for blizz to cannibalize old content. Either that or they are just incompetent, take yer pick!

Edit: Now that I think about it, very likely since naga had azsuna under their… foot? before we showed up so there’s probably some naga mcguffin that needs to be uncovered there.

Windizu, I’m just quoting your post for context, not to argue or anything.

It seems a bit redundant to choose it because it’s close to Dalaran though. You’d think they (Blizz) would want to spread the load and choose somewhere in the Broken Isles that’s still close to lots of things, but closer to them than Dalaran.
I would have chosen Thunder Totem for the horde portal and maybe Valdisall in Stormheim for the Alliance.

Actually I would have just made it port to Dalaran and repurpose the portals in Dalaran to go to a couple of zones in the Broken Isles.

Totally agree. Wish they’d leave all the portal active everywhere there have been portals in the history of portals.

I wish flight paths were direct.

I wish Flight wasn’t so GD gated.

I honestly don’t see a downside to more/easier travel.

It would have been great to have a Class Hall hearthstone. Even now.

Shal’aran would’ve made more sense, although the Nightborne joined the Horde.

right??? blizz sure does love their time gated thru things like this, eh?

can’t count how many times i’ve gotten an alt on a FP to where i wanna go then lose interest by the time i finally land (7 minute flights shouldnt exist. i dont care where you are flying from). imo, if an FP will afk you before you land, there should be a faster albeit more expensive option to blast yourself up into the sky on a gobbie-rocket for a straight flight there that halves the time.

and, more on topic, blizz should have stolen travel ideas from GW and ESO. why not have portal gates set up that will zip you to where you want to go with a click on a map? oh… wait… yea, duh, i already answered my own question; blizz and their timegates…

lastly, hearthstone c/ds should be removed. the end.

The reason is because you don’t get to choose.

That’s a little vague, I know.

See the devs have this problem wherein their theme park is not as interesting as they want it to be. You ride the rides and then you are done with them. Some of them are downright annoying but you ride them anyway just to get it behind you.

Now what you want is to move forward and not look back. Blizzard does not want that. They want you to take in everything they make, every pixel, and if you don’t want to do that then they will have to find a way to force you.

Which they do.

Paying for new content that you then have to grind through old content for weeks to unlock, the holy grail of flying locked behind everything in the entire expansion, and now positioning portals such that you are forced to cross their world in its entirety.

You don’t get to choose.

You don’t get to do something just because you want to, because it makes your experience better for you. No, you will go where you are told and do your chore list and worship everything the devs ever made and there is no other option.

Central portal hubs, painless travel, flight, these are long gone and replaced with more and more clever ideas for shoving you back under the boot. Paying customers count for nothing now.

Its not your game. Its their game. We are just another problem they have to manage to appease the metrics.
