Flynn is explicitly straight and heavily hinted to be in love with Talaela.
True but Varian never knew that she was into him, also Varian was married so it was never gonna happen.
It was said early on that she would be physically attracted to the main human protagonist of the comic series. wow .gamepedia com/Valeera_Sanguinar#cite_note-41) This idea has not been visited in the comic and Varian even refers to her as a child several times.

I personally think it would be a good twist if she dated a non-human. Preferably someone on the Horde side. And seriously, why don’t these blood elf women date their own men, we never see them interested in each other.
And I don’t recall him ever saying “I AM SO STRAIGHT AND NOTHING ELSE YOU GUYS”

Oh, I never heard of that. Personally I never saw Valeera and Varian as a thing. To me Varian just seems like the type of guy to not care about finding love again after having his first one.

The burden of proof lies with the side making the positive claim (IE: you claiming Flynn is attracted to men.) Because there’s no way to outright prove the negative.
See a lot of it comes to the fact that he’s that rogue stereotype. If you played DnD you’re well aware of the “Bard that will sleep with anything that has a pulse” type.
Flynn checks a lot of similar boxes so that’s why I just can’t imagine him being just into women.
