Spirit gear → healer gear.
Yes it is truth that warlock and possibly mages can benefit from spirit with certain passives, but other secundary stat is >>>>> spirit.
So to sum it up, if it has spirit it’s for healers!

So no
it’s fine, priority for dps over healers is best for a raid. I’m just saying if you want to get specific contested items as a healer you need to gdkp instead of playing in a regular guild run.
Not entirely true. You can still get it after your dps already acquire it. You are of course at the mercy of drop chances… but that exists in GDKP guilds as well.
Enters a Holy Paladin who needs Crit or Haste and cares jack about Sprit.
Look forward to fighting holy pallies for every spell damage sword
You can have em!
Mace or bust for me.
Healing is irrelevant.
Pretty sure there are some BiS pieces with spirit on them for those classes, along with boomkin.
thats Miss Holy Paladin for you
also we are prio on Val’anyr
And what good is crit and haste on fights longer than 6-7 minutes during heroic progressions? In the late game yes, but for progression when the dps is low and the fights last longer you need spirit.
If a weapon with spirit drops, in a CE guild, I would give it to the healer instead of a DPS, same if a weapon without spirit would drop, I would prioritize DPS.
After a few weeks and the boss is on farm, the healers start switching their gear because the DPS is all well equiped, the encounters are shorter and there’s no need for spirit
DPS gets geared first in Wrath its been that way forever, Healers are 2nd prio always.
Yes because it just makes sense to do that.
Giving DPS items speeds up fights and speeds up the run gearing out healers is irrelevant.
Yeah in Phase 1 ESP there is no benefit to letting a Heal take ANY upgrade from a DPS unless you just want to sit in fights longer…horrible logic.
Healers can heal all content in Blues and buy badge gear for the first month and be fine.
Then you’d be completely wrong about it, not every healer can even make use of spirit (neither pally nor shaman want it at all, they prefer mp5) and some dps use spirit as a dps stat (demo locks, shadow priests)
Spirit is great for mages and demo locks.
Why would you ever gear out a healer first, it just doesn’t make sense.
Lot of forward thing too, you don’t give your pallies the best weapons in p1 cause they’re on first prio for valnyr
Paladins don’t have any talents that give them spirit-based in-combat mana regen, so it’s only out of combat regen for them. This makes spirit not a useful stat for healing paladins.
DPS casters actually make use of spirit, not all of them but fire mages and demo locks do.
Well, I was talking about end game raiding and progression in top guilds. The dps eill certainly grab the non spirit gear, and with longer fights spirit will be crucial. The LK encounter itself is around 10 minutes or more… Good luck without spirit!
About warlock and mages grabbing the spirit gear… Only if the ilvl diference is greater than 13.
Edit: confused the spirit issue with Cata for holy paladins. But apart from holy paladins, druids and priests (3 specs) will be getting the spirit gear before dps
There is just no way that top Guilds are gearing out their healers first…
That’s just pure cap
