Who is running Ajour?

For some unknown reason to me, I am locked out of posting a reply in a thread I already started, I made several attempts to post a message with an image, got rejected every time and now it says I can’t reply until someone else posts (i.e. I do NOT have the last post in that thread).

Has ANYONE tried to run it under either of the Sierras. 10.12.x or 10.13.x? It runs and works BUT the display is barely readable. I tried it under a clean separate account, same issue.

Got a screenshot of what it looks like for you?

I would, but if I try and include an image, it will reject it, then lock me out from ANY posting until someone else replies! I’ll DM you the image over on XYM. More background is the app simply wouldn’t run at all, and I could not really see any relevant data in the console (a decidedly non-traditional type of crash, no crash log), I think other folks had issues, so the dev created an “openGL” version which at least functions.

The issue may very well lie in Rust… but he kinda told me it was my issue. Earlier than the current rev, he sent me a Unix executable, I ran it in Terminal and it complained about the location of the colorsync.framework file (it’s located in different oplaces in the Sierras and Mojave apparently). I even tried to try and cheese it by putting a symlink where Mojave wanted it (or the compiler thought it should look at), but I can not add anything to /System/Library/Frameworks.

You can link images like this if you have to:

Just put two ` into the link. One at the beginning and one at the end, no spaces needed. Blizzard’s version of Discourse is…wonky, to say the least. But I did manage to work past its major issues when I made MissCheetah’s D3 cosmetics guide. Only major difference on the WoW side for me is I have Trust Level 3 over there but not here, so creating non-Blizzard links that are clickable is something I can’t currently do here. That’s why I gave the instructions in the beginning of this post for you.

As for the display not being readable, are you referring to the grey text on white background? If that’s the case, just mention that specifically to the author so they can choose a darker shade of grey for that text.

Oh, I see other uses posting images right in their posts, not clickable links. From the preview, it does not appear enclosing in single quote marks accomplishes this end. I got some of the links imgur provides to show the actual image in the preview, but when I try and post, it tells me I can’t add images then locks me out of any reply in that thread.

Ah I see you got the image I was trying to post… I think he is using some system called YAML. The “themes” Ajour uses are based on this… he even sent me a theme (it uses hex numbers, so to check the colors I had to run Photoshop cause that’s the only app I know that will show hex numbers for colors… the theme sure had dark colors). So I think the issue may very well lie with this Rust thing… I know the correct colors show in Mojave, just trying to see if this is an issue with 10.12/10.3 or just my system.

Not to mention he created a separate “opengl” version of the app because it seems more than just I can’t run the app at all.

Of course, the whole issue is also bubbling in a very different direction from Overwatch implying they may shut down using what had been a public API to prevent “scraping” of the data they compile…

Those aren’t single quote marks, those are grave marks. The one above the Tab key on US keyboard layouts. There are people posting youtube videos in their thread when they don’t have TL3, but not vids from other places. Images can be linked if they are on a Blizzard server, but if you have TL3 you can link to any image and make clickable URL links that are non-Blizzard sites. It helps a lot with tech support.

I assume you mean Overwolf, not Overwatch. Overwatch isn’t changing anything. Overwolf, the “new Curse”, is.

Ohhhh, I always thought of that as tilde key because I use that symbol, never had a chance to use the “un-shifted” version! And yeah, I misspoke, was referring to OverWOLF.

I’m having major issues with that whole trust thing… tried a ticket but they blew me off.

What issues are you having? You’re currently at TL2, so you can’t post images. You may have had TL3 at one point, but outside of MVPs and a few manually assigned TL3s (like I have on the D3 side), if you don’t keep up with the requirements for every rolling 100 day window, you revert back to TL2 and can then only embed youtube videos into your thread and are forced to list links like this.

First, they didn’t even bother to TRY and explain any of this in an “official” ticket I submitted and that is just wrong. If I am TL2 why does it say I am only a “member” under trust level?

So I get it, I have to live my life at least a few hours every day to “qualify” for being able to post a damn illustrative image in a thread? Makes being a member here 100% useless… are we back to the days of smoke signals to communicate? I’m done.

Trust level 2 showing “member” is correct. Trust level 3 shows “regular”, as in you’re a regular around here. Most players agree it’s too steep on the requirements. And for people like me that primarily frequent the tech support areas instead of GD or the class fora, there’s no way to easily, if at all, get TL3 and keep it going.

I just find it hugely ironic that you seem to know more than the 2 GMs that blew my questions off. I did also get some clarification from another user in another thread.

Still, one of these days I’d love to do some group content w/ya.
