i was thinking to myself earlier while at work surrounded by the mountains and strong breeze and greenery this.
Shamans have the elements which is basically nature itself tbh you got wind, water, lava, fire, ground, etc… all important things we find in nature and what makes up nature itself. however druids are also kind of that way i think in the sense that say resto shamans have a lot of flowery stuff and mushrooms and all that. they can even turn into a giant tree and animals.
Shaman are about the spirits and the elements in the way that the elements have spirits in the WoW. While elements are part of what’s natural, they aren’t the same order as nature itself which seems to refer more to living things.
I think they’re different parts of nature. Shaman are on the physical side of it, the actual earth and elements that make up everything. Druids are about the life side focusing on living things and the natural systems within the world. Different sides of the coin.
The short version is our cosmology within WoW is separated into subsections. You have the Light and the Shadow, which then breaks off into four smaller subsections of Life, Order, Chaos and Death. And then it breaks down further into a surrounding inner circle which encompasses what we know as reality.
Shaman deal more with that idea, reality being composed of different aspects such as fire, earth, water, air, and spirit (which is the 5th element so to speak). Druids deal with nature, which is the grander scale. Think “natural order”, the opposition of undeath, and the presence of life in the sense of actual life force on a planet.
If Goku hurls a spirit bomb, he is using the idea of nature. If Squirtle uses bubble beam, he’s using the idea of water akin to how a shaman would as an element.
