Yes, people I know have died from COVID. My stockbroker took an early retirement and moved to Florida, he had no known underlying conditions and was in good health. All others were elderly, however.

As I’m sure you know, or at least should, both parties once had a liberal and a conservative wing. The southern segregationists were Democrats as were the northern unionists. The Republicans were big business and old money.
Right wing democrats started to switch parties when John Kennedy was elected and really started to go when LBJ signed the civil rights acts.
Former Democrats like Ronald Reagan, David Treen, Jack Cox, James D Martin, Floyd Spence, Rubel Phillips, Stanford Morse, Bo Callaway, Iris Faircloth Blitch, Charles W. Pickering, Strom Thurmond, Albert Watson, Bob Barr, Jesse Helms … the list goes on and on, Trump remained a Democrat till fairly recently.
The final result was the conservative to far right Republican and liberal to far left Democratic parties we have today. Neither has much if anything in common with the old Republican and Democratic parities from the 1960s and earlier.

The CDC just makes recommendations, it can’t mandate anything.
Employers and in some cases state governments can issue mandates.

Governor is saying no to mask mandate for now but he will change his mind down the road. My store wants me to wear a mask and already dozen of my coworkers are refusing to comply. I will soon to follow.
My governor is so busy futilely trying to save his political career that we might have to wait for someone else in government to decide about masks and such till we get a new governor. Some politicians can make a habit of harassing women and get away with it, but he should have known he was in the wrong state for that to work.
Cuomo? Nothing going to happening to him. 15,000 seniors were killed by him and everyone seem to forget with that scandal. This sexual harassment is nothing but a distraction and like Bill Clinton, he will get away with it.

Obviously we’re predicting the future so only time will tell, but I would put odds on it that he will not have another term as governor, his political base is not the same as Trump’s political base, unlike most conservative evangelicals a persons ethics values and morals actually matter to them as much as perceived results.
Ordering to send sick patient into nursing homes and hid the data on Covid death in nursing home. That’s just one nasty cover up that he will get away with it. Hero of NY my rear end.

I love how blizzard is deleting some comment here. Obama is having his party without a mask while us we can’t do that because it would trigger a super spreader. Ignore CDC they want power and blizzard employee who reading this, you be worrying about your lawsuit rather trying to delete comment that you don’t like. you guys are in hot water as it is.

And I been proven worng. Only question here is will he will be prosecuted or fade into bad memory. He still has to answer for that cover up with nursing home scandal.
Like so many of these things, the only criminal act in the nursing home thing was the coverup.
I don’t believe he will be held accountable.
Despite any denials from anybody on any “side” we do have, and always have had, a class system in America.
Regardless of political party, race, religion, or any other consideration except wealth and celebrity, those in the “rich and famous” category do not get treated the same as us blue collar scum by the “justice” system.
He will face a lot of lawsuits on both scandals and may lose a lot of money, but that’s it.
