Honestly having a blast.
Had a few really close calls (like 5HP left, hoping to outrange the caster and get unleashed kind of close). But man it got the heart pumping.
But its why I loved HC D3. Sure, you are a little more cautious, but the stakes are real.
I’ve lost only 1 so far…and yes to kobolds in the mine. But I was over confident. I just dinged 20 on my druid last night (I play slow). Now I’m only doing like 1 M+ for my druid and pally on retail to ping the vault, and after that, back to HC.
I expect I’ll be doing HC until the next retail season. I’ll get KSM and then back to HC.

Of my 8 friends that are playing, the only one who is bored is the one who keeps taking off work and binging all day, getting way too high for any of us to play with. Today he just said he isn’t having fun (Big surprise?)
Rest of us are still going. I lost a 34 Druid, buddy lost a 37 Hunter, other deaths were 16 and 9 not significant

Love it. HC is something I generally treat in segments. I’ll come back and finish my 60 if SoM2 starts, etc. I’ll stop it to go play the D3 and D2 ladders for a bit. But then I’ll come back and continue. And if I die, I go agane.
Low level areas are still absolutely hopping, and this has been a great success. I’m looking forward to self found challenges including naked and no talents used. Soloist as well. Even better would be titles and rewards along the way per 10 levels dinged.

39.5 rogue with about 70 gold.
Starting to lose a little interest while trying to grind mobs for gold so I can get mount.
Was farming swamp of sorrows and badlands for skinning but the gold per hour is feeling super slow and boring.
Wanted to get 40 and mount before trying SM.
Maybe I’ll catch a second wind or something.
I’ve found putting an audiobook on for the starter zones make it a lot less noticeable that I’m doing Durotar again

I thought I would be tbh, but I think that “anything can happen at any moment” factor takes in and make that zone or quest I’ve been to or done that much more fun “oh…I could die here right”
Also adding in roles I haven’t played in a long time due to not liking how they feel and run on retail, with those added layers of death is perma.

I mean…I am old and play the same games, D2, Morrowind, and WoW Classic nonstop for years…I’ll never be bored haha. This mode just changes it up and adds some kick. I’ll be on Classic variants forever. Will enjoy playing this mode for several years.

The original HC rules were made for playing HC on normal servers. The people who are out there lamenting some of the rules such as AH usage just want to make things more tedious.
At this stage in the server’s life, the core of what makes HC, HC is still there. I can see in the future certain abuses that gold will be funneled to alts or bots farming and selling will begin though.

Not me, on my 4th toon.
1st: Son of Arugal, as I forgot these exist in Silerpine Forest.
2nd: Hyperspawning in Silverpine, looking for a zombie of a specific name. I blame that on me, didn’t keep the mobs dead while waiting for named NPC zombie.
3rd: I went into a cave without thinking…lol
4th: Tower of Althalax (sp?) quest there you go back to kill a named mob. had to go inside tower for this. I was one level away from the quest being gray to me. I went in and got owned by the walock and a patrolling warlock I didn’t notice.
So now I am on my 5th, and made it to 20. I shall remember my failures going forward.

Having a great time taking my time and being cautious. If I find myself stuck or bored I just go play something else and come back later.
We have 4ish versions of WoW to play right now, its glorious.

Just YouTube honestly, started with this Norse mythology series that was sick, and lately just been putting on a random “adventure” type book
Haven’t ran into a single one that stops midway for an ad or anything either haha
