Who in the world is writing this story?

Actually, it can be both. Personally I would’ve liked to see it, but we don’t “need” it. Learn the difference. Also, Saurfang discussing the complexities of war with Zappy Boi, reflecting on the genocide of the night elves, having self doubt and loyalty issues as the horrifying images are seared into his mind. Yeeeeeah, far cry from “OH OH, Sorry! Didn’t see ya there buddy! SNIFF SNIFF!” and some wannabe Avengers Endgame dialogue from the aspects, “Whatever it takes.”, “Whatever it takes.” Okay. Let’s just kill these brain dead primalists already.

Blizzard CA is more Disney, less R-rated.

I realized this years ago doing a race change on the new models, looking at the Tauren and said nope. Way too Disney for my liking.

Then they picked up Diablo and made the worst Diablo entry in the series. Cartoony, childish, etc.

So not surprised to see where modern WoW has gone.

The unfortunate thing is the industry shows what teenagers like to play. It isn’t Disney themed games. They like adult themed games too.

So they’re stuck in this bubble where nothing of any sense can get in.

It’s all a made-up story where we always win in the end. What matters to me is a compelling game… competitive gameplay / far from trivial. I never bothered the story when I started WoW in Molten Core, Black Wing Lair, Ahn Qiraj and Naxxramas. I dont remember there was even a story. So what? I was having fun. 20 years later, I still dont care of the story. The only cool story was on Wrath which was just a continuation of WarCraft RTS story.

No need to shed blood or to have some gory stuffs. This is just a videogame. I dont think this the a good medium to scare people.

Even on Diablo 4, I am not impressed with their gory stuffs. I am just looking at their fun gameplay.

BTW, Shadowlands theme was awesomely darkish. The Maw and Torghast was perfect to me… cruel, unfair, dark, so evil and badazz… but most of the players hate Shadowlands. Never heard it was praised. So, why would Blizz continue to make such themes? You get these cartoons instead. ROFL. It’s the players choice. ROFL.

Sorry, can’t hear your thoughts on the bfa story, I’m too busy making sure my turtles get to the water.

See, I can do that too.

Indeed, I liked aiding heroes about, kept things interesting!

Do what? Bring up a meaningless side quest from BFA?

Meanwhile Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers is apparently fitting enough for a whole major patch narrative.

I skip every cutscene and don’t read any dialogue. I think there are dragons and deathwing is back or something.

Don’t worry, there’s no reason to pay attention. All you need to know is, evil dragons are bad and must die so you kill. Good dragons are goods and stuffs. Also, mole people are friendly sniff sniff.

is anduin dead or something last I saw him he wasn’t in good shape

Lol OP really digging their heels in on this one.

Really giving the GPT4 prompts a workout though I’ll give them that.

Write a complaint about 10.1 in the voice of someone who smashes their face into the keyboard to skip all dialogue and cutscenes”.

Based on what I’ve seen of Shadowlands, the grimdark stuff in that expansion wasn’t the problem. It was the bad retcons, borrowed power, and other systems that don’t respect the player’s time.

There’s a reason why my first impression of that expansion was “this has some solid ideas. Too bad it’s a WoW expansion instead of a single-player RPG”.

Some parts if you are a US resident and you state has it legal…other options could be advised if no issues with that lol.

It’s super obvious in-game that the story is about the legacy of the dragons (and of the Titans as well). The leveling campaign revolves around the five oathstones, physical embodiments of what the dragonflight swore to do in the past. The red dragonflight story in Waking Shores is about their duty of protecting the future of dragonkind. Wrathion and Sabellion are very directly dealing with their father’s legacy. The blue dragonflight story in Azure Span has everything do with the history of the flight, Malygos, and Kalecgos’ decision to disband the dragonflight in the past. The green dragonflght story in the Ohnaran Plains is about their flight’s history with the Maruuk Centaurs. The bronze dragonflight story in Thaldraszus is about their duty to protect the timelines, and Murozond’s own future.

10.0.7 was very, very explicitly about the Dracthyr grappling with Neltharion’s legacy, and the different paths that Sarkareth and Emberthal are taking.

And all this doesn’t even get into the Renown storylines, which have very similar themes. Or many of the sidequests, like Veritistrasz.

I think you’d have to be paying absolutely zero attention to the story to miss that legacy is a major theme of this expansion.

Ive only done 2 zones so far. I liked the waking shores story but I can’t wait to leave the ohnarhan plains. It’s pretty boring. The only good part is the music.

He’s still alive. His soul was rescued and due to the trauma of the situation, he decided to leave his leadership role and go into hiding for a while. We haven’t seen him since and supposedly 8 years have passed in canon.

I dunno, after Fyrakk attacked Loamm and you go around helping the niffen evacuate, you find one of them who desperately and frantically tried to dig a hole to escape the flames and was still burned to a crisp. Another, who was trying to run into some water to do the same and also died a fiery death.

Sure, there are a lot of “family-friendly” moments in the cinematics, but there are still plenty of violent and grisly bits to be found as well.

I don’t understand the story anymore, it’s too bloated and confusing.
It’s like the Daniel Craig James Bond movies. Anyone actually remember what happened in those movies? It’s all a flashing blur for me. Too much twist/turns/ah-ha!/ha-ha!/ moments it’s all “Egh! Just forget it!” and stop trying.

Same thing now, I just do other things in the game and not bother with the confusing story, which is a shame.

Welp I love hate to say it, but you’d be part of the minority mindset who think that. :person_shrugging:

– Unless you’re saying that in satire, in which case ~ Kudos :beers:

If Anduin and Kalecgos appear on the screen at the same time, your computer literally kills itself from all the angsty brooding happening.
