The whole 11.1 patch that is coming up is 100% Tinker aesthetic. you got Transmogs, Npc’s,New Raid etc. All in favor for Tinkers tbh

They should call them “mechanics” instead of tinkers so that everyone gets really confused in raids and dungeons.

We had this come up before in BFA when they added a lot of “tinker” type abilities to Island Expedition.

So was mechagon. And there was the motherload. And island expeditions had teams of tinkers. It’s a concept in the world that exists so they’ve put it in the game a bunch. Unfortunately they for some reason haven’t made it playable. I hope they do one day, but I wouldn’t count on it now because of undermine.

Primarily because the concept is literally just engineering. The whole point of “tinkers” is that each and everyone of 'em is a unique tinkerer who makes their own stuff. Trying to encapsulate that whilst avoiding engineering, being able to get to the heart of what each race’s “tinker” would be (because literally every single race has engineers that have created aesthetics that are tied to that particular race, each and every one would need to be captured as uniquely themed racial class abilities) … how do you make that without engineering, as tinkers are just engineers?
Here’s the simple reality: if Blizzard adds a mechanical oriented class to the game, yes it’ll use the title of “tinker” to build hype, and likely even add it as a set of hero talents … but they wouldn’t be tinkers, because no one can identify what a tinker as a class would be like.
When this gets brought up then other people use other games to demonstrate a mechanical class, failing to realize that those classes are distinctively different still from what’s being asked. Because… folks are literally just asking for the titles of engineers to become a playable class, and exceedingly few people have gone any further than that to provide any more substance.
It can be done and at some point, it is likely that we will be getting some kind of a mechanical class… but it ain’t going to be a “tinker” even though it is still going to make use of that name to build hype. That’s why they haven’t made it, because it is damn difficult to figure out what a tinker even is if it isn’t an engineer.

It’s a patch, not an expansion.
Also, if it were the big patch feature, they would have announced it with the patch.
Realistically, next new class is coming with Last Titan, and it will be something that’s very thematic with whatever’s going to happen in Last Titan.

Tinkers are the most logical choice for the next class. While there are other options, this one fits the aesthetic of Undermine, and the Titan machines. Plus, if we are killing Gallywix, and handing the Goblins over to a Master Tinker, it just makes sense.

Tinker could do both of those. Mech suit for tanking. Alchemist spec for healing.
