Who else would use regular flying and Dragonriding interchangeably?

I know I would totally use both, as both have their own unique uses.

Dragonriding is great but having both would be even better.

I know I would

  • Dragonriding for simply traversing very long point A to point B travel (due to the speed)
  • regular flying for everything else/general use since it’s simply better for exploration, afking while hovering, etc… plus you get a ton of choice to pick from w/ mount options (Dragonriding only has 4 mounts)

I would, even if for nothing more than the ability to hover.

Given how they control in different ways (and I already find myself hitting the space bar twice to launch my old mounts into the air), I’d probably just stick with old flight for the bulk of what I’m doing.

This right here, the only thing DR is missing is the ability to hover.

Gathering as a druid bird again would be nice as well.

hargmlrmnfer… man I am trying so hard to not cry about losing the ability to pick flowers on my druid, with all the negativity happening around here. But man, EVERY TIME I summon my mount, I resent it.

I’d not use it at all. There are plenty of safe high points in the world to AFK without mobs attacking you. Regular mount flying is inferior.

Seems everyone just wants to hover. It’s a shame, to me one of the best parts about Dragon Riding is how players are all swarming around, they actually look alive. I don’t miss the crowd of hovering bodies.

DR all the way.

Old flying looks so bad now its like flying made by a student learning to animate. Free Movement Camera attached to a mount is killing immersion. No gravity, no momentum. Same speed in all direction, such unrealistic physics.

After dying and experiencing regular flying speed in the Dragon Isles (via the Ghost dragon), I wouldn’t use old flying in DF for any reason.

Agree, ppl hovering like crazy in major hubs just looks weird as hell

I can’t go back to regular flying. Just way too slow can’t stand it.

I’d use both. Old flying for lining up screenshots, DF for everything else.

I can’t stand old flying now. Even the drake you fly on when you die is terrible.

I would use regular flying on my Druids because that’s always been OP but probably stick to DR on my other toons.

If both were available the only time I might use DR would be for long flights when I need the speed. Otherwise I would be 100% regular flying. I don’t think DR is “immersive”, I think it’s just annoying. If I wanted to have to micromanage every second while flying I’d be playing a flight sim game. :speak_no_evil::hear_no_evil::see_no_evil:

No. I dont miss bots and boxers flying around. Gathering Mat prices are back to normal.

I’d definitely use the regular mount for short distances and when I want better control. I’ve yet to get to the point where I enjoy dragon riding. Maybe once I unlock more abilities, but I’m not even interested in doing that currently.

I’m never against more options. BC flying has it’s convenience. I like being able to hover. I can also scale higher without burning vigor. Dragon Riding gets me from point A to B to C or the random node/rare much quicker.

And yet with Dragon Riding I still sometimes land at the rare the exact moment it gets killed. And with BC flying, the same exact thing would happen. Neither prevent me from being at the exact worse location in Africa while the rare spawns in Alaska, it is what is. I enjoy both.

If Dragon Riding was open to all content I would probably use it exclusively, its much faster.

I usually take flight paths if I have to alt tab or get up while flying somewhere.

I would only use regular flying going eastward in Azure Span.

Man, flying that way when you’re outta gas is rough.
