Who else loves playin' a Goblin (or two)?

Goblins and gnomes are my favorite to play. Proving everyone wrong as the underdog is just too much fun. Plus you know people throw a fit when you kill them in pvp .

I don’t know if I’d say love, but I’ve got a Goblin Fire Mage Engineer who’s a blast (pun intended) to play. Goblin lore is really fun to create a character around, and it’s always interesting to see what schemes they’re up to when going into a zone with a lot of goblins in it.

I know exactly what you mean… Today, I created a (lvl-110-trial) Goblin hunter with a name that suggests her small stature puts her at risk of being a snack for every large pet that she tames; however, every pet that she tames shall have a food-related moniker, demonstrating that she fears no beast. (Case in point: her trial starter pet–a crab–is named Rangoon; so he better mind his P’s and Q’s.)

Kezan and Azshara are two of my favorite questing areas, because, as you’ve stated: “it’s always interesting to see what schemes [the Goblins are] up to when going into a zone with a lot of goblins in it.” Explosions and other general forms of mayhem abound. It’s never a dull moment and I love it!

I love the Goblins because of their attitude.

“Make sense!”
“I don’t make jokes. I make money.”

They’re very East Coast aggressive, and they are completely unapologetic for being what they are. They know they’re the smartest race on the planet, and they don’t give a flying rip about anyone else’s opinions of their culture.

The rest of us live upon the borrowed grace of the Goblins allowing us to continue existing, and they know it.

Any class…Goblins are the own.

I really despise how marginalized they have been in lore. They are ever-present in the story. Flight would not exist without them. Sure, the Gnomes can do it, too, but in WC RTS games, the goblins were there. They had no allegiance to anyone but themselves, and they were happy to take anyone’s spendable money to further their own causes. Even given their openly-stated mercenary capitalism, they are not evil, and they have moral lines they won’t cross.

The Horde would be NOTHING without the Goblins – even before the Bilgewater Cartel joined the Horde, the Goblins were there from other cartels to give them the tech they needed.

Without the Goblins, there would be no Alliance because they would have died out to the invading Orcs long before WoW even picks up. The ability to travel by air and the weapons tech needed to defeat various enemies began with the Goblins.

Be that as it may, the Goblins are relegated to comedy relief in most of the story arcs, and in the cinematics that deign to include a Goblin, they’re always reduced to a joke about blowing things up or cowering before a “leader” they would’ve assassinated long before that boat left the starting area or at the feet of some other racial leader in a posture of craven groveling.

That isn’t who the Goblins are, and they deserve better storylines.

I have two capped goblins, and if we were Horde, I’d main one. Unfortunately, I can’t be a Goblin on the Alliance side, so I don’t have the option. Otherwise…I’m a Goblin. All day. #TeamGazlowe

My warrior is a goblin. I like being able to Heroic leap and immediately rocket jump. I hate not being able to rocket jump, and then heroic leap though. Why does the latter put heroic leap on cd? I retired him though btw

Nicely put.

You know what? You’re right: they do deserve better, more involved storylines.

I recently became pro-Goblin, but, dang, your post has made me PRO-pro-Goblin. I didn’t even think that that were possible, but, apparently, it is.

I can’t stand the new male goblin models. Problems with their models(no offense to people who love them):

  1. The new eyes give them an uncanny valley issue. They looked more monstrous before.

  2. They look like they have had too much plastic surgery. Bigger jawlines and faces too blocky and square like.

  3. They have permasmiles.

  4. They don’t look as gritty as they once were.

Look at the comparison here. The old one looks like someone who would scam you blind. Crooked and corrupt. The new one looks like a forced disney friendly look.

The female ones though are a 110% improvement in my opinion.

I knew my ears where burning!

So I actually have quite a few Goblins, but my Holy Priest is my favorite even if not my current main right now. (Doing the Warlock thing until SL). I do also RP, and I like playing some of the more rare combos… and Goblin Priests aren’t exactly common. For Bipzi, making her a Light Fanatical is actually a fun way to subvert certain expectations because at least in RP, she often acts and says things in ways other Goblins would be like “what tha heck?”.

Either way, welcome to the Goblin Club! You can pick up your membership card at the booth over there.

I love Goblins. The reason I don’t really have many is because I honestly hate their forced beginner starting area. Absolutely hate leveling there, I don’t know why, just never have enjoyed it.

Maybe being able to switch to Exile’s Reach will coax me into giving them another whirl.

I agree; I guess that’s why I only play female Goblins. (To be fair, I only play female chars, although I am considering a male Worgen rogue…)

Woot!

Whhhaaaat? Someone who actually dislikes the Goblin starting area? Are you sure that you’re a true Goblin fan? (J/K)

I think that you’ve the right idea: Exile’s Reach likely will offer you a viable way to give Goblins another shot.

I would always make male goblins before the model updates cause I loved the corrupt, tyrannical, unscrupulous look they had prior to it. Now they pretty much just ruined it for me and I am certain I am not alone in this. Sad thing is also that forevermore we are stuck with these new models that blizzard thought would be improvement.

I love Goblins! (I started in Cata) when I started I was on a trial account and the only race that appealed to me at first glance was the Goblins lol but unfortunately being on a trial account I couldn’t pick them.

But I eventually got to the real game and made my Goblin being a Shaman and I love Goblins!!! Unfortunately Shaman has fallen down to my one of my least favorite classes in the game now =( I use to love Shamans but yup now I never play my Goblin due to that ;(

I already have every other class 120 the Shaman is my only Goblin and I am not the kind of person to have a dupe of one class and actually play it as much as my first one.

Swapped over to my goblin to comment! Aside from Undead (or their original iteration) Goblins have the best personalities on the horde. Their quests and flavor texts are fun, and you can tell the devs really enjoy writing their dialogue.

I will agree that they could use a better story arc now that Gallywix is deposed so let’s all collectively cross our fingers and hope that they’re considered actual goblin beings and not cannon fodder, because many MANY of the quests they’re involved in see them dead and or dying in the end and I’d like them to have a bit more dignity than that.

The goblin starting zone is probably the zone with the most love put in it and I am glad for that.

This character was originally a female gob. I like their stealth tippy toe animation.
