TLDR If nothing changes from the beta the rings not gonna be a catchup mechanic but another Heart of Azeroth. Please blizzard don’t do this to us again.

No it’s not.
Stop being alarmist. Heart of Azeroth was a full-expansion feature with infinite grinding and a ton of player power tied up into it. A ton.

It likely will be tuned to be, as the ring is supposed to work as a soft-nerf to current content without having to manually change everything.
I thought this was gonna be about a Ring of Blood type event.

A ton of player power that has gradually been taken away with time…
HoA no longer functions in the tw BT raid. Its disabled without any notice. Oddly, if you bring azerite gear with you, the azerite gear still benefits from HoA’s level, but the essences don’t work.
Feels more like that item we got in dragonflight with the cave and gems
Heart of Azeroth was awesome. It was so much fun getting all the essences. I wish we could have something like that, but alas, as others have pointed out this is another annulet, which was fun as well, but much shorter lived. Hopefully there will be something as amazing as Zskera vaults on the new island as well.
I view the new ring with both excitement and trepidation.
