#What was the reason not to level? #What was your experience after? #How the community reacted? #How did you feel about your character, not having a history? #Did you visit low level dungeons again? #Did you have any bad feelings playing a boosted character, like it doesn’t feel right? #Do you think buying a level boost is legit or do you consider it as cheating?
Did it twice before and the content I would like to do is closer to level cap. I also don’t have the same amount of free time I did back in the day.
no issues at all from boosting. My experience was great. Felt no different then had I leveled.
Worse on the forums than in game. Never had an issue with my boosted characters being griefed or received any negativity.
It’s an RPG, I make the history for it. As far as “social server history” largely irrelevant overall. Nobody really cares who they grouped with in SM 50 levels ago, and those who do are probably having a fine time.
none. Unsure why I or anyone would.
I think it’s legit, it’s not cheating at all to me. Players still put work in for their character once it’s boosted(presumably) and shouldn’t be considered illegitimate or as cheaters for choosing the better option for their own play experience.
And how about the achievements? You never visited DM or Monastery. The character has no real history. What to do here? Visit all the low level dungeons again? How can I build history for the character after the boost?
Why not? they’re fun to do and visit even at 80, for me at least.
Can either get them at 80 by going back or be fine not having done them on one or two characters. Really doesn’t bother me that people can check my achieves and say I didn’t do X leveling dungeon before on that character.
Role playing elements if you’re into that, or playing the character and building a history post boosting which is pretty much just as easy as building one leveling. as far as how YOU can build one, that is entirely up to you should you choose to boost and others who may choose to boost.
this char was a 58 boost. Reason: I heard tales of glory about ye old combat rogue and wanted to see for myself. and I didn’t want to level 3 months to see it.
retail convert coming from 2 seasons of running rogues in SL (all the specs). I did not need 3 months to learn my rotation lol. this is actually much simpler. My outlaw in retail has a high apm bursty setup as dreadblade talented venthyr. every minute or so it gets hectic managing a very small burst window.
side note…blizzard can never be forgiven for taking away combat rogue and giving us outlaw. Shame on you blizzard. Shame!!!
70 boost paladin. I am poor in classic. What’s better than 1 char making gold? 2. then I leveled a DK to 70 (now 71). 3 gold sources when I feel the need to make some coin.
I see, so because I was already there with my other characters It’s alright to do it again with the boosted one? Bot if I never visited a dungeon in the past and now coming there like a god, is it still legit?
I feel like there are exactly zero people in this world who are having this level of a moral dilemma as to whether or not they can or should use a boost in a video game like the OP is insinuating he is having, especially as this is his second thread on it now, and you just getting gigabaited.
I am just here for the beer, so to speak. Games I do to get away from IRL that people are expecting things. and actually matter. games is slacker mode time.
well that like I said above…some need to lose the whole but do you know your class crap.
I have a slow real leveling hunter (got her to 44 I think, I like my pet less lonewolf hunter setup retail lets me have more tbh).
It taught me nothing over maining hunters in retail since late legion start.
okay…in tbcc I had to feed the pet. and pound water since classic hunter uses mana. So kitty the death, well, kitty I brought lots of food for. and Lots of water. gots to stay hydrated, right. lol.
I main both my levelled characters. I have a 58 boosted character I leveled to 70 and a 70 boosted character that I dont play. I like the idea of having the ability to play a different class closer to max level but since my bars and skills are really low on the characters since I didnt invest that much time I find them less fun. Probably because I leveled the characters I wanted and boosted ones that were just maybe this will be fun classes.
I bought the epic versions for all the other neat stuff. The boosts were just a bonus.
I used them on classes I had already leveled back then since I already knew how they would play through and to max level. Any classes I plan to play that I didn’t level before I will go through the process so I know what to expect from them.
I boosted this character earlier because my goal is to have all four tank classes at max level for this xpac. I have an 80 Druid that I leveled since late vanilla classic that I tank all raid content on currently as my main, and a DK that I got to 80 recently. Pally has been my main since MoP on retail and while it is different it is not so far off that it’s not easy to pick up on, so I don’t feel bad boosting it. I wouldn’t have boosted a character that I did not spend much time playing on in the past.
I don’t care about anyone’s perception over the boost because besides group quests, and the occasional heroic at 80 I just won’t have much interaction with people outside my guild.
Never did and probably never will. I would despise those that do except that without LFD, you can’t get low level groups anyway. This means leveling 1-60 is mind numbingly boring. The problem is that LFD can’t be sold in a store and having it means far less people would buy a boost. This is how the modern game industry works. Create a problem that didn’t need to exist then sell a solution to it.
“I bought the epic versions for all the other neat stuff. The boosts were just a bonus.”
-So post on an actual wrath character, not a 28 retail sockpuppet that has an astounding 15k posts.
#The 1-60 leveling experience pre-cata was pretty awful. #The same as it was the first time around. #No one cared. #I don’t care. #No. #No. #Only spergs care.
