Who does Blizzard think the Horde player is?

Odyn would not have cared. he would have just made another head Val’kyr.

The simple fact is that the Horde will always suck because Blizzard will never paint the Alliance in a negative light.

They simply refuse to have the Alliance do anything bad which leaves it to the Horde to be the antagonists whenever Blizzard wants another inane faction conflict.

You will never see a storyline like the young Anduin being manipulated by an Old God controlled Genn into horde settlements or something. There will never be an Alliance analog to Sylvanas or Garrosh because Alliance players would throw a temper tantrum if they were ever depicted as anything else than entirely virtuous superheroes, so there will never be any depth to either faction.

The Horde will always become momentarily evil, attack the Alliance, and get defeated with zero consequences for what they did.

I actually think he would have, he seems pretty possessive.

He would have huffed and puffed and… made another head Val’kyr.

Read up on him, Odyn’s… kind of an idiot. And a bad guy who just happens to be kinda on our side.

I don’t believe she did. He’d replaced his chief valkyr before, and as others have pointed out, he was all about giving the aegis to whoever happened to be the strongest.

I’m not sure that replacing Helya as Prime Val’kyr (after y’know he FORCED her into that position, which sent her so far off the deep end she made Hell just to spite him; and was “turned” by Loken) with Eyir, is really equitable to Eyir getting stolen (using Helya’s magic no less) by some shady mortal who at the time represented one of the world’s two political superpowers.

Something tells me that with HIS temperament the guy would have been pretty damned pissed had Sylvanas actually managed to succeed.

And something tells me a guy who wouldn’t laugh in Skovald’s face when he asked for the aegis doesn’t care as much as you think he would. (shrug) I don’t think we’re going to find common ground here.

I never thought, while playing through BfA, that the alliance with Odyn was in any danger. I was quite amazed that people latched onto the idea on the forums. Which doesn’t mean that I’m right and you’re wrong, just that the events are presented in such a way that different people can look at them and see wildly different things. And Blizz has never offered any further evidence one way or the other.

I think the idea of assaulting and attempting to enslave a Titan Keeper during a war against the Legion where we REALLY could use their aid (for a personal chore of her own, it wasn’t even for the benefit of the Horde as a faction) was an incredibly stupid move on Sylvie’s part. She had no idea how Odyn would react, but considering his relationship with HELYA it likely would not have been positive.

No, he did not laugh in Skovald’s face, you are correct … but the guy is incredibly petty and vindictive (especially when it comes to the entity that locked him away in his own realm). Sylvie enslaving his head of the Val’kyr using Magic from Helya is a very different circumstance than a Fel-Infused Vrykul cheating his way into trying to obtain the Aegis. One act is likely to be taken as a personal attack on him (considering who gave Sylvie the magic to even do it), the other is not.

Or he would have found it hilarious.

Yes … because he always finds anything Helya played a part in “Hilarious”. He never has a history of over-reacting in MASSIVE ways whenever she is involved in anything. He doesn’t hold an enormous amount of animosity and spite towards her at all … it would just be something he’d laugh off lol!

Honestly, if Sylvie had succeeded, it be far more likely that he’d offer his aid and the Aegis to anyone who could bring him her head (and free Eyir)…

Given his history with Helya, and everyone and everything else.

You think it was stupid, I don’t, we’ve both given our reasons, and Blizzard isn’t offering any further clarification. At best, it’s a debatable point. (shrug) Maybe when we see more of Helya, as we’re bound to in future, we’ll have more evidence one way or the other.

Yet most of these things are missing as a cause for this war.

Personally after watching a few lore videos by blizzard. I get the feeling they are very allaince centeic. One of them moaned about Varian and moments latter brushes off voljin’s death as it just happens. He showed emotion and passion about one leader and nothing for the other. Same thing in the book before the storm. It was very allaince centric and keep talking about varain over and over. I just think they are bias at this point. With simple things like op allaince characters, more allaince characters, netural content all always leaning allaince now.

Even in horde questing they show how much better the allaince is. Did you know horde only wins by zerging now. Ya apparently allaince foot soldiers are strong then their horde counter parts too.

I like to murder people wherever I go. Eventually, I’ll murder someone who likely would have shoplifted later that day. And that means I was a hero all along!

The hero we need.

What did they hope to achieve here? The lesson that the past is doomed to repeat itself? We see this every expansion, now everyone is unhappy. On one side you have the Saurfang fans who want the old horde back…and what if Sylvanas wins? They will hate being apart of that horde, it wont be the horde they love and they will be forced to serve her. On the other side you have the Sylvanas loyalists (like me) who wanted revenge against the alliance and want to see her succeed but if she looses what kinship do we have in the horde? We will be forced to follow a leader we have no love or pride for. Its all a mess. The whole Garrosh 2.0 thing is a fail on epic proportions and same with her becoming more like Arthas. They had so many roads they could have taken her but they decided to make her just a unoriginal copy of another character, which in turn makes said character obsolete.

this was beautiful and well put. Like i said in my post they have Plenty of roads they could have chosen which would have been better then the one we have now.

Nah, their writing for the Alliance scum. The Racism and Bigotry portrayed by the humans and Night Elves seems fine apparently, so long as you do it with a self righteous narrative of “KILL THE EVIL PEOPLE, BLEEEH”.
