Being married =/= “spent a small fortune on a party.” Most people I know had JOP weddings, including me.

Anyways, there’s more legal protections with marriage and the majority of states in the US don’t recognize CL marriages. That’s the only benefits.

I just looked it up. It’s less than 12 out of the 50. At least you don’t have to go through a divorce. That can be good in some situations.
