"Who can make" In Trade Chat

Why do people say that instead of “LF” or “Looking for?” “Who can make” it such a weird way of requesting a craft IMO, and more than a couple people are doing that, but its literal meaning is so different.

Yes this is a pet peeve and I probably look stupid huffing over it, but oh well.

Is “who can make” the new “LF” and I’m just behind the times?

My favorite is “Can anyone make this Charged Hexsword?” (Or whatever they ask for)

I reply to them “no, not anyone, they need to be a Blacksmith”. (Or appropriate profession)

The best is people asking for a profession, but not what they need. Seems like a pointless question when there’s always gonna be a second question before you know if that person can help you.

lots of people use addons to block words soo if it has LF in the wording at all addon blocks it from chat so people dont see it, Typing who can make most people dont block any of these words so the message shows up

The only reason I would word a request weirdly is to go around the bots that insta reply when you’re asking for a craft. Makes the filtering easier.

I guess I’ll find this addon and block that phrase then.

My favorite is seeing people refer to scribes as inscriptionists.

“Who can make …” is an idiom for “Who among the people who read this and are willing to make this can make …”.

It is far superior to “LF” if you are using a standard keyboard. Things like “LF” are for mobile devices where it’s difficult for most people to type as well as they do on a keyboard.

Now if you want to consider a worth while battle, join the fight against the use of “those ones”, or the use of “Gud”, as in “Git Gud”, which obviously rhymes with “mud”, “sud”, and “thud”.

Why are WoW players like this lol

b’cus they wanna.

get over it i guess.
