Who came up with Void elves?

How can you come into work and say that’s a good idea let’s do that?

Employee 1: “Sir I don’t think the Horde players will like that idea”

Employee 2: " Oh don’t worry about that we’ll put them on the Alliance side"

Employee 1: “Well that’s okay then”

Employee 3 : " How about we just give the Alliance High Elves? Void elves seems ridiculous"

Employee 3 was never heard from again.

Should’ve just gave them void humans.

I don’t and never will understand the appeal Elves have over people. People are obsessed with them.

Might have something to do with the fact they’re basically humans with perfect dimensions you see on models.

I suspect void elves were an afterthought when they realized they forgot allied races for the Alliance in Legion. Someone from the cafeteria said -

“Well, the Alliance wants High Elves and that Windrunner person is infused with purple goop just slap those together as a race.”

The horde has high elves.
The only difference is political.

It would be like if one faction got the pandas later than the other and calling it a new addition to the game.

At least void elves were something different
And being related to the void is a lot more interesting than being a normal elf.

Void elves got my vote at least

They were stolen.

Years ago, since the start of Legion I was a huge fan of the Warcraft RTS, I cleverly came up with concept art of what his army, structure, and territory would look like.

But than again, I’ve taken the Idea from the Dragon Ball Online Races, I find the concept of turning one Monster into a playable rpg style race quite interesting.

When seeing the particle designs in final patch of Legion, because I’ve designed particle effects years ago I thought it was a mere coincidence.

It seems they’ve taken inspiration from the Voidbathed because these were one of many Technologically advanced races I’ve had taken place in the Warcraft Universe 10,000 years later.

Sure Blizzard’s version of Voidbathed seems to be allies with the Ethereal but the Original only used Arcane, Shadow, and Rune Magic to fuel a magical art known as Technomancy.

I still remember their lore, creatures created by my Original character as a militaristic force, I could obviously some parallels written in Blizzard Universe, however, instead living on a floating rock in space, they coincidentally lived on a nameless Ice Planet with a thriving cities carved throughout the glaciers, O’rondus, Xylo’ron, and Dekondria’s Keep being some of their faction capital and a unnamed Kingdom where the founder of the O’ronic Empire resides.

So many interest concepts, it motivates me into doing whatever is done to improve as a better artist, even go to the very website where Anime|Manga Artists were born as well as replicate the very training many Japanese artists used to immensely improve. Honestly looking back on my old work these concepts aged like wine.

I’ve primarily written the Technologically Advanced O’ronic Empire (A.K.A. The Azshari/Kaldorei Empire’s True Successor) for the primary purpose of them being an established main antagonist faction like the Scourge and Burning Legion, not a playable race.

I assume the developers must of really been interested in them, I’ve only made this for purpose of making an entire fictional Universe out of the Warcraft Universe by going far into the future, I would not call it “Warcraft” since Azeroth is no longer present and the only thing to remind of Azeroth denizens being the countless Ruins the O’ronic Empire left on the Ice Planet after their Ancient Founder was imprisoned by a Newer generation of Titan Keepers left behind by Azeroth herself.

There were countless Newer races that blossomed since Azeroth Awakened the Voidbathe just the Oldest among all of them, although the Voidbathed would not be as powerful as they used to be; due to being divided by the former colonies and being constantly locked in civil wars, non of them would hold a candle to the imprisoned Ancient Founder and his Faction.

To be honest what I mentioned was ancient history since it will not be an Eon later since Orcs and Humans make a return in a way some extinct animals make a return from an entirely different species. (Strong parallels to the existence of cats and how they evolved to replace an entirely different species immensely similar to them.)

Classical Elves embody all the traits that humans yearn for.

Wisdom, beauty, immortality, grace, poise, and power.

'tis an alluring and intoxicating elixir of fantasy.

Must’ve been the annual cubicle crawl competition day at Blizzard when they came up with Void Elves.

Well, it went something like this:

Players: Can we have High Elves yet?
Blizzard: NO!

Players: Can we have High Elves yet?
Blizzard: NO!

Players: Can we have High Elves yet?
Blizzard: NO!

Players: Can we have High Elves yet?
Blizzard: NO!

Players: Can we have High Elves yet?
Blizzard: NO!

Players: Can we have High Elves yet?
Blizzard: NO!

Players: Can we have High Elves yet?
Blizzard: FINE! but not how YOU wanted, we’re doing a NEW version of High elves, and then later on giving you regular High Elves as a third extra race.

Players: That’s… kind of what I wanted… thanks… I guess?

Players: Can we have High Elves yet?
Blizzard: NO!

Probably a better concept than one I can offer.

I would explain Talthressar’s exile from Alleria Stronghold with a bunch of elves infected by the void. :face_vomiting:

They make toys for good little boys and girls in Santa’s workshop. And they make cookies in their trees. Even though keebler elves are more gnomish in appearance, they are called elves.

Toys and cookies. What more needs to be said?

If Mechagnomes were approved, anything can.

I’m just surprised it wasn’t void horses.

It’s only High Elf fans obsessed. You don’t see Void Elf (most) or other Elf players with this unhealthy obsession.

In all fairness, the version that went LIVE is not the same as the original design for VEs, they originally even up to the screen showing at Blizzcon were gonna be Void form transformations like Worgen but with Elves…

For whatever reason they thought Worgen players would be mad about this and removed the form toggle.

Really? Huh. So, that’s where the worgen model allied race went. There were really only two left, a worgen model and undead model allied race. Sounds like the worgen one got airlocked. Maybe there was never a plan for an undead one.
