I’m in pretty much complete agreement. It was pretty underwhelming and disappointing. It left me with a bad taste in my mouth and a desire to watch something different. Funny you mention GoT, because that was exactly the comparison that came to mind. Lost would be another good one.
It was just a lot of unnecessary, story-ruining caveats that had no reason to exist and unnaturally yanked the story into an awkward direction for the purpose of ending it.
I wish someone would do like a more serious version of Percy Jackson that focused on the Greek Gods. I would cast Bob as a modern Hades dressed in Armani suits and negotiating for souls in Manhattan high-rises.
Very well put. That’s literally exactly what it is.
I’d love to see this, and I’d love to see what the costume department could do with his alternate appearance, assuming he may occasionally assume a more ancient form a la American Gods.
With Bob, subtle shadow effects around the eyes and temple would be ridiculously effective at cultivating the right look. He wouldn’t need a whole lot of CGI support.
The guy has great range. I think he could do for Hades what Pacino did for Satan. XD
