A lot of Slipknotā€™s songs combine love and murder as a parallel for how relationships often hurt and end up killing us, yet we donā€™t want them to end. We revel in both the pain we feel and the pain we cause because it means that we have someone. Every time they hurt us, it reminds us that weā€™re not alone.

They also have some about unhealthy, even murderous obsession:

I think most of these type of songs feed into Snuff and Dead Memories. I think I shared those already.

I donā€™t consider anything written by Slipknot to be a love song. Their relationship songs are more a collection made to remember who hurt you and why you let them.
