I’m on my way out of the forums. Not paying a sub to write here anymore

While this isn’t directed at you necessarily, I do think a lot of the people who post on the forums do so because they’ve got an innate need to have their written opinions engaged with, and - this is where my view gets a bit divergent - I think a lot of them use the WoW forum as a kind of “safe” outlet for that need, as an alternative to other avenues where the effects can be larger on their personal life. (Either to eliminate the use of those other avenues or at least reduce their use of it)

In other words, I think there are people that know deep down that if they weren’t posting here, they’d be using that time and inclination to post on facebook or twitter. The kind of thing where engaging with people here reduces their temptation to engage in a facebook thread with their political cousin where the family is split.

Who knows? Just a sense I get that always leaves me wondering a little when a person leaves if they changed how that time was being used entirely or if it instead diverted into social media engagement.

I post more on facebook than here. I have done everything in my power to offend everyone who is offendable via facebook. Facebook is where I post my edgier and more malevolent content (when I’m not banned).

I like posting here, but here, you always see me on my best behavior and I’m always on the verge of tearing my muzzle off and savaging somebody.
