I’ve literally canceled my sub and it runs out in January?
Lol.
I “stomached” SL’s itemization because the game was fun. But with a terrible new seasonal affix, nerfed classes, and rehashed dungeons, Ion has made it easy to finally cross the line in the sand and say enough is enough.
I won’t make a farewell post but when my sub lapses I guess I’ll make like the Lorax and vanish from existence with the barbaloot suits.
“I” am that person. That’s why I can speak so confidently.
I don’t enough about the OP to go digging into any aspect of their account (or anyone for that matter). What they do or anyone else does is up to them. If they don’t think the game is worth their sub in January, I hope they do quit as should anyone/everyone else.
I just had a lengthy conversation with a good friend who basically relies on me for how Beta TRULY is and I’m brutally honest and tell them what I know about them, I think DF is going to be a bad expansion/time for them. I miss this person a lot and they came back for literally a week and played less than 4 hours I reckon on a gifted month sub…just felt too far behind and too much to do and none of it mattered anyway.
We’re not a hivemind but people who do similar levels of content are going to follow and hold very similar degrees of the same opinion when it comes to topics on a broad scale. It’s not a wonder why the tryhard community largely railed against covenants being locked down because they think the miniscule difference in performance gained in freely swapping on a boss by boss basis would be the difference in a boss kill or wipe and it probably is/was for some, but these are people who live in a world of chasing miniscule percentages so of course a barrier to that is not going to be well received by them.
Yeah I don’t think people realized just how screwed they are for professions unless they spam the as yet unimplemented work order system. Because all the mats that matter are soulbound and cannot be traded.
Classic and TBC classic also had massive spikes and losses. Wrath classic will as well.
Endwalker had a massive spike and queues and losses.
I think the sub graphs deceived people into thinking that WoW never lost players until Cataclysm rather than it being a current snapshot of the people leaving vs new people coming.
And in all comes new people don’t come forever.
Not saying WoW couldn’t be made better, but even if a hypothetical “perfect” expansion launched it would go through the same spike and decline.
I think net sub loss would have been less steep each launch. Blizzard does have a way of turning off players in the x.0 patch and only fix issues and make the game more fun/accessible starting with x.2 patches.
But an 18 year old game is going to decline.
There’s no reason for S1 to be punishing, and S3/S4 to be fun. They should all be fun.
