This is absolutely crazy. The min-maxing of honor per hour is a travesty and should be addressed already by Blizzard. Warsong Gulch is nearly empty too, but at least lowbies play it. Zero players in a BG should never happen.

Almost as if 99.99% of Classic players have never once cared about PvP.
Thousands upon thousands of players are r14 and guess what… they arent queuing WSG or AB either. They dont need the honor. They have the gear… They dont queue.
Weve. Been. Saying. This. For. Years.
Classic PvP is a total meme which gets 100000x more love and attn on the forums and reddit than people who actually do it for fun and enjoy it.

Yet, if all things were equal and AB / WSG were given as much honor as AV, each BG would be equally played. So…

Unlikely.
AV ends in 6-10 maybe 20 minutes. WSGs can go on forever and a stalemate in which HKs start granting you 0 honor and AB is generally 30 minutes with the 2,000 score.
Also AB and WSG there is a chance you get literally 0 honor. 0 HKs against a premade, and they win in 6 minutes. You get 1 token for losing… So essentially nothing. In AV you always get SOMETHING
AV you fight PvE monsters. Theres no aggravation, no “omg they are better”. Can you kill the PvE mob before the other team can.
No honor adjustment will ever change that experience.
Again. People dont want to PvP. They do it to get the PvE rewards.
If they wanted to PvP they would play a game that made sense for PvP… like idk literally any other game ever… not the one that has 50 second polys and saps.

They did a PvE battleground for a few hours a week to get gear so good you can EASILY take it into TBC and be completely fine.
That’s how powerful the gear is.

People afk’d in a Pve battleground to get items that won’t get replaced UNTIL bis items in Naxx during the Bwl phase. It’s not hard to see why they did it had nothing to do with liking PvP lol

Unmanaged abandonware game with horribly dated design from 20 years ago isn’t the perfect product people thought it was. I’d say that sounds the opposite of crazy and sounds perfectly predictable.

It is definitely the longest PVP grind in any WoW version, compared to Cata that takes like a day or two it’s months minimum even after they nerfed it. Yet people are willing to play it time and time again.
No, they wouldn’t because players ruined them. Blizzard would have to apply changes from later versions of the game to fix them first.
I’m hoping this is better in TBC. You need honor and BG marks for a lot of items so that should help get the participation up. You’ll be able to get the tabards then if thats what you want.
It’s almost like everyone got R14 who wanted it and that no one likes classic BGs lol.
The whole point of classic is world PVP. No one likes the BGs.
There is no point doing BGs once you are R14. YOu don’t get anything of value.
Also PVP is a meme in Vanilla anyways. It’s just about griefing people who don’t want to PVP you back.

People definitely don’t like AV. That’s just an AFK race to R14, but there is a community of people that premade WSG and enjoy pvping there. AB is kind of in the middle. I personally enjoy it but it doesn’t give great Honor and isn’t the pure PvP like WSG.
I can see where he’s coming from he just took it to the extreme. The only way to get people to reliably q into the dead bgs is to make them much more efficient, not equal. If they were equal, then people would still q AV because it’s a path of lesser resistance. The logic stands.
It’s not 2019/2020 anymore. The community is cooked.
In anniversary, playing to rank 14 means spamming av and actively avoiding PvP/sitting afk in a bunker/etc to most players. You’re being a bit pedantic here. The overall point is that a lot, probably a super majority, of rankers do it to get the rewards, not because they like the gameplay. If they liked the gameplay, they’d be, well, playing the game I.e Qing battlegrounds that aren’t AV and most are simply not.

Classic PvP’ers are like a Chihuahuas
they bark and bark and scream and bark and are super loud…
yet are this tiny little box that could be punted 25 yards if someone wanted.
There are thousands of rank 14 players on these servers and 0 WSG and AB… Efficiency aint the problem haha.
Classic PvP is simply trash, and most ppl who DID enjoy it definitely are not playing Anni. Nobody i know from Classic 2019 who was super into PvP is playing Anni. Not a single one.

I thought you said classic PVPers don’t exist
After they removed the bg numbers in 2020, all bgs became pretty viable to rank in. This was due to a few reasons:
- The cap/ceiling to be above r10 was significant, shutting off the majority of the players from participating past that point
What this meant was there was actually less games open. There were not 150 AVs open like anniversary had, there were alot but after people were exalted that fell off.

Becuase there were not an overwhelming amount of AVs open, the other BGs had qs popping because of strange playtime hours, que times and other factors.

The honor cap is so hilariously low and easy to achieve on anniversary that literally everyone does it now. And every server, there is 1 faction where losing can often be more lucrative than winning. A recipe for disaster with a braindead easy barrier to entry
I ranked up to like 10 or so while the av meta was going on in 2020, and once that changed suddenly my group was br1 every week. The br1-2 crowd essentially sets the meta in the old system, there are no brackets now.
So long as losing games rewards progress, it will always be like this, it will never, ever change. And liek you said, the community is way different now - enabled by different system changes over the years
