Whitemane server on NAWest has a great pop and only getting better. For anyone interested in experiencing that classic community feel I recommend a guild called PuG Whitemane on the Alliance side.
Tons of people grouping together and helping eachother out for leveling and they are progressing through the raids as well. Also lots of fun Guild events to participate in. Cheers!
I left whitemane for Sulfuras Because Whitemane was way overpopulated, pvp ganking, and people stealing each other’s quest mobs. It was plagued by multiboxers and bots for the longest time. Not so much plagued with multiboxers now that Blizzard has basically banned the use of multiboxing programs and tools, but still plagued with bots. There was a time when I was playing alliance on Whitemane, and I couldn’t even complete the quests in the dwarf 5-10 zone because the wendigo cave was full of like 5-8 different multiboxers, all boxing 5 mages each. It got to ridiculous levels of BS on that server. Most of the multiboxing mages like that were just Bots that were in a group and running the same botting program mixed with multiboxing software. People used with multiBOT tactic to farm Strat endlessly day and night and make profit from it.
I’m playing horde on Sulfuras and having a blast. Its a high Pop server that also has slightly more horde than alliance, and it takes much of the stress off of leveling out in the open world and not fearing being ganked too frequently.

Didn’t they lock the largest servers including Whitemane recently? I haven’t tried to make a character personally, but I saw posts here about it.
How recently? I started playing on Whitemane a little less than a month ago, and it’s been great so far.
I just saw a post about it today…someone said pagle mankrik whitemane faerlina and herod are all locked? there may have been others, but definitely those
I think you’re free to make a character on those realms, but they’re locked for transfers unless you already had a character on them.
