As we’ve constantly watched and analyzed realm populations over the last few weeks, we’ve seen enough of a recent trend to justify returning to the intended population arrangement for each realm.
So, estimated 80 min queue which actually translates to 2 hours or more because people don’t log out like normal when there is a queue is not enough to justify turning layers back on?
They can’t do anything about the bots that are on 24/7. Rampantly through out the entire world. They can’t fix the gold sellers because its our fault for buying gold. They can’t change spawn rates of black lotus and other resources because its working as intended for servers with populations 3-5 times “intended” but when they shut off layers and queues returned you can’t turn them back on? What was the point of layering to begin with? To reduce queues right? But you turn them off and they return, and you are silent? I’m so confused by this.

Gotta fit all those multiboxers on the server before you’re allowed. They pay good money to win.
Well they did add somethng to lower the ques i hear, which makes sense as im on whitemane also and they were like 5+ hour ques before layering went in.
I heard that all classic servers are on these drives, and each server is basically 4 drives, well what i read was they added 2 drives to each server making it 6 drives, basically increasing the amount of players that can be inside the game by 50%.
Not sure how true it is, but the ques are way down from what they were.
There are 17 low and medium population US servers that don’t have any queues. Transfer and you’ll never have this problem again.

now up to 2 hours and 45 minutes. guildie goes afk to use the bathroom, gets dc’d and thrown in a 2+ hour queue on raid night. this is a complete joke.

But server ques on whitemane at this time were over 5 hours, and they arent near that atm.

This is honestly one of the dumbest arguments that ever gets brought up. This is not an answer now, nor has it ever been an answer.
People will not transfer from their already established server - this has rang true time and time again. Nothing is going to change that. I don’t understand why people like you can’t get that through your thick skull.
The Blizzard I remember during WoW vanilla would have already comped us several times for the amount of time wasted in queues. This is just a pathetic excuse for horrid customer service.

I think the implication is that people saying “just play somewhere else” doesn’t work when you have several alts, bank toons, and an entire guild of friends who rather not all transfer. If blizzard actually opened up free transfers to medium pop servers I’m sure more people would do it. Instead they keep opening up free transfers to the worst servers and so the problem never gets solved.

Whitemane needs layering to be playable, the population is way too high on the server for what Vanilla originally intended. Blizzard should consider taking some special measures into consideration for such servers. Before layering was turned on we had to log in before 3:00pm server time to make our 7:30pm server time raid. That is unacceptable and it is going to cause heavy damage in the community as these outrageously long queues continue.

While that’s generally true, I play with people on Whitemane who I’ve played with since Vanilla/TBC. We’ve stuck together over a decade and I’m sure others are in the same boat.
