The Whitemane Cluster is the most popular PvP cluster, and thus probably the most popular cluster in general.
Idk the realm pop, but it still doesn’t seem that huge. Kind of crazy that they locked it imo–although a guy in game is telling me that the pop is approaching 6k or so between ally and horde. I guess that would make the entire cluster at a point where it is approaching a Classic Vanilla “Mega Server.”
I would think Blizzard would just decouple servers from the cluster over time if their server pops became a problem?
Can you guild across clusters? That might be why if you can.
Whiteman cluster is the only living cluster. Every other cluster has between 10 and couple hundred people on it. Most of them dead. Whitemane cluster is the lifeblood of classic wow and by putting this lock on it blizzard is killing it. Its like pulling life support and watching the game starve to death or suffocate.

first retail devs troll world buff drops on whitemane, now they lock the character creation so we cant get cheap consumes from our new chinese rerollers
Player data has shown the EU cluster is likely 2x the size of the NA cluster. It’s also not locked. This is some oversight I would imagine.
