Whispers of Karesh audio log

Right at the very start she calls K’aresh’s fall being from their own pride, which makes me wonder if they drew Dimensius to them accidentally rather than it being a coincidence. Sort of like how the Highborne attracted Sargeras’s attention.

One small detail I noticed is the use of masculine pronouns for Karesh. I assume that means had Karesh been born, Karesh would be male.

Alas Sufaad the old Capital was destroyed while the final Capital Tazavesh chosen by Salhadaar to be Capital while figuring out a solution to Dimensius survived the Planet’s destruction.

K’aresh being in pieces doesn’t really chance it’s state as a Desert as that was what it was before Dimensius showed up.

That’s certainly possible though I took it more metaphorically, like “the sea is a harsh mistress”.

That’s sort of the vibe I got from the tales of Locus Walker talking about his home world.

That their studies into the void acted like a beacon and the void was about to study back – and after it saw a world soul in such a planet, Dimensius was the first void lord to take hold of the opportunity → and seize it.

Same, I mean as Spyrn mentioned we had Azshara and her Highborne for how the Legion learned about Azeroths location. In Legion we learn that Archimonde’s mentor and even his own experiments with Demons ultimately drew Sargeras to Argus. It seems to be a tread of “mortals doing stupid things with higher powers that draws the attention of a cosmic threat”.

I don’t remember reading that about Sargeras’ finding of Argus — From my understand, Sargeras was just roaming the cosmos in deep-pondering, wondering how to conquer the universe with the Legion effectively → Then was drawn to Argus because he sought to recruit the Eredar race for his Burning Legion due to their advanced intellect and magical prowess.

  • There’s also speculation he heard the dreams echo from the world soul within and figured: “Hey, two birds with one stone how about that.” – but yeah.

Ultimately, from my understanding the general consensus is that the denizens of Argus didn’t attract Sargeras so much with their actions like the Highborne did, but more-so because they merely intrigued him greatly due to their potential for his plans.

As for:

I wouldn’t wager the Highborne’s actions as “Stupid things”

But essentially yeah, high power = those wanting to claim it for themselves.
However that could be said about anything really, whether in fantasy or even real life :yum:

Xavius in particular was trying to use the Well of Eternity to refine his powers not increase it like his eloquent lackey Peroth’arn who despite his facade of eloquence was the very brute that Xavius sounded like.

If the Highborne’s recklessness drew Sargeras it was the recklessness of brutes like Peroth’arn that drew him not the intelligent Highborne like Xavius and Azshara who were trying to refine their powers despite being aided by pretentious brutes with delusions of eloquence!

It is mainly from the demo lock artifact weapon lore.

Quick summary

The demo lock artifact is the skull of Archimonde’s Mentor, Thal’kiel. Thal’kiel dabbled with demons and one day him and his followers were going to attempt a coup. Archimonde informed Kil’jaeden and Velen of said coup and killed his mentor and fellow students. For this act Archimonde was promoted and later became the third member of the ruling council of Argus. Through Thal’kiels actions, Sargeras (whom was secretly teaching the Eredar how to summon demons) learned about Argus. Sargeras would use Thal’kiels skull, something Archimonde kept as a prize of sorts to give the future demon lord visions of the Burning Legion. It is why Archimonde was the first to accept the Dark Titans offer without hesitation.

Thal’kiel was brilliant, but he was not wise. A dark presence whispered to him, and the eredar’s mind was consumed with visions of power beyond his wildest imaginings, of ranks upon ranks of deadly servants eager to obey his every whim. These demonic forces made Thal’kiel’s arcane constructs look like a child’s playthings. Afterward, he would despise the arcane, his passion reserved only for fel magic.

Thal’kiel’s mysterious benefactor bestowed upon him the ability to summon lesser demons, and the eredar immediately spread the knowledge to his Wakeners.

In actuality, however, a demonic presence had been slowly infiltrating Archimonde’s mind, using Thal’kiel’s skull as a conduit for its pernicious influence. While Archimonde slept, he saw visions of civilizations consumed in magnificent fel fire, and a dark god standing at the head of a glorious army. The entity whispered promises of strength that were impossible for mere mortals to comprehend, and Archimonde drank them in, eager to learn more of this mysterious being and his invincible legions.**

**Thus when the Dark Titan, Sargeras, finally came to Argus and offered the eredar a place in his kingdom, Archimonde was the first to accept.

It is also true that Sargeras did sought out the Eredar to be leaders within the Burning Legion. Basically because of Thal’kiel and Archimonde, Sargeras learned about Argus (the planet) and when he realized he needed help in controlling his army of demons he remembered the Eredar.

Eh ~ That’s not really language that specifies it’s definite in how he found them, but more-so of that of which what he did with them after & during.

  • Although I suppose one could argue it’s up for speculation or it was simply all of the above that happened to correlate to all being the same thing.

So far it simply seems like he was roaming and ultimately found them on his own accord through one means or another, rather than through mortal-meddlings & experiments that echoed out to him.
