Why is it that when I try to whisper somebody on another realm and I type in their information, it always say that the player is not found? If I click on somebody’s name, I can whisper them without any issues. But if I type it in exactly the way their name appears (name-realm), it says player not found.
This has been an issue for as long as I can remember. The fact that I never hear anyone talk about it makes me think I’m doing something wrong. Am I?
Are they the same faction as you are? I noticed I couldn’t whisper a horde friend from the same realm even, without being grouped with them.
Are you including the realm name (should be player name-realm name)?
If you’re including the realm name, then it may not be working if the target is cross-faction; cross-faction won’t work unless that person is on your bTag/RealID friends list.
Even then it can still be glitchy. One of the raid leads I run with is on my bTag friends list but she’s Horde and when I bring an Alliance toon to raid, she can’t just right-click from the friends list to invite me… I have to whisper her and she has to invite me by right-clicking my name in chat >.<
