Since prepatch, my “tells” have popped up in their own window. Not in the same window as general chat… guild/party etc… It used to show there. Now i occasionally miss messages because i dont see the extra window pop up. Is there a setting im missing that got changed? I just cant seem to find one…
It’s in the menu setting somewhere. I forget the exact details. Set it to inline.
Go into Inferface, Social, and look for “New Whisper” And change it to In-line, that will change to how it originally is by default. The other option opens up a new window and there’s a third that does both.

People have already answered how to change it back, but honestly I recommend trying to get used to it. I swapped to new whispers in new tabs ages ago because it’s too easy to miss a whisper if you weren’t looking when it came through. If it’s in a new tab, you won’t lose it, it’ll still be there even if chat is going crazy, and a blinking tab really should get your attention once you get used to how it functions.
