add this in retail pretty please; ty.
You mean ?
it is in retail, but only if you did the original quests before they were removed.
Pretty sure the OP means
I’m fairly sure there are other weapons with that appearance
Like this
i have got a axe that looks like the ravager its called “the gleaming ravager” and one that looks like the whirlwind axe but a much darker color. I would like the original look for tmog purposes.
dear diary, today, I had some first world problems about transmogs. I refuse to believe all of the posts were the devs have said they will never add anything from classic and into retail. but I’m holding out hope in the off chance that they will listen to this low level, alt character and make my greatest dreams come true.
In fairness, they have done exactly this, multiple times.
they only did it when they could profit from it
Barring all the times they’ve done exactly that with the “hidden” Zul’Gurub, Scarlet Monastery, Scholomance, and Naxxramas stuff, I’m pretty sure their actual statement on that particular matter was that accomplishments done on Classic servers wouldn’t cross over to Retail servers and vice versa.
I can only tell you what I read. I can’t tell you what they’re thinking. No one can. So if you want this crap from classic, you should go play classic. And if you want the crap to be in retail convinced them how they can make money on it.
Well, that makes more sense. I was thinking whirlwind like the warrior skill.
I never use axes. Obviously
Warriors in classic reach a certain point where they are given a questline to complete, at which point they can choose a weapon as the reward. The whirlwind axe has a whirlwind proc. Almost every warrior chooses it.
oh no…a old transmog added back to retail that doesnt affect anyone…how horrible.
not my circus not my monkeys . Blizz said they’re not bringing anything over from classic so that’s all I know. The only reason I’m even this deep in the thread is because somebody objected to the fact that I quoted as a fact from what was quoted from a dev.
Whirlwind axe itself does not have a whirlwind proc. I think you are confusing it with Ravager. It was just the best weapon from the three you could choose from. Due to two reasons.
- It had the highest weapon speed out of three, which for 2H warrior dps, slower weapons the better as most abilities scaled from weapon damage. I.e “ability does X damage + Y weapon damage”. For example, mortal strike. And weapon damage was proportional to the weapon speed. Faster weapon speed = lower weapon damage. Slower weapon speed = higher weapon damage.
- The other reason was, it is an axe, which benefited from Axe Specialization in the arms tree. Which gave you up to 5% extra crit chance if you were wielding an axe (1% per talent point).

I didn’t play warrior. But I remember a warrior who decided to take a different weapon. And everyone was like, you did WHAT?
That’s fair, but they’re also correct in stating Blizz had repeatedly stepped back on many of their quotes about what they would NEVER do.
oh man i love that axe
I feel like this is the one thing they would never walk back. Because if they did, they would have to return a whole bunch of things to retail that basically died in classic. I can only imagine how many people would go farm Naxx for a corrupted Ashbringer. I don’t disagree that they have gone back on their words several times, but this one feels like it would ultimately be impossible.
