HC players would love to do softcore battlegrounds too and rank, without that we lack some of the best content in the game
this current BG mess would be the perfect time to add Hardcore to the battlegroup for softcore games
any thoughts?

In hardcore death is permanent. Hence why they call it hardcore. So if they had battlegrounds they would die (as it happens a lot in the battleground maps, like A LOT). Since death is perm on hardcore servers, anyone that que for a bg would be committing sewer side. Make sense how that works?

duels are a thing in hardcore, BGs are just a practice/fun thing that doesn’t tie into the actual game, i could see death not being permanent on BGs working no problem

The duels are seperated though one being to the death and the other ending at 1% hp. In the bgs you hit 0% hp and go to the graveyard, so you died. In hardcore that death would be perm and total.
hc is part of the game now for better or worse, the issue is the endgame hasn’t been thought through and they didn’t add bgs
a lot of people would be more interested in hc if you could play bgs at 60 (or before)

I dont get it how ppl still playing hardcore… dying… leveling… dying… leveling all days like its made for real masochists… 
they could spend a few hours coding an exception for BGs where your death wasn’t permanent , i don’t believe it would be impossible
as for that being “not hardcore” really the ruleset is made up anyways so who cares

Just play on pve then but, make it a rule you delete your character if you die but exclude bgs. Then you get what you want and you don’t have to change the ruleset for 1000s of other people who like it the way it is.

i like the leveling of hc, i just want the endgame to be more fleshed out
bgs would be universally popular they just dont want to spend an afternoon coding them in
have yet to meet anyone who would dislike softcore bgs being an option for hc realms

Just play on the PvE server then and death=delete but exclude bgs from that. Easy peesy
they made dedicated hc servers but they are less popular than they would be if they add bgs
during this bg mess they made we could get HC added to the battlegroup and a lot of people would be happy

Eh Hardcore should be counterstrike style match where you dont lose your character but you get one life in the BG, and after you die you just get to spectate.

Actually if you look at the layering on each server using nova you would see that the most populated server is the hardcore server having 9+ layers most of the time. The pvp server hits about 6-7 at peak. Not sure about the PvE server as i dont play on it. Hardcore is the most popular by far and there are no bgs in it.
because the end game wasn’t designed with permanent character death in mind?
i did a community poll and a significant percentage of people not playing HC said they would play if bgs were added

They could just make their own ruleset where they play on PvE and death=delete but exclude bgs from that. That way you can get what you want but not change things for the thousands of people that like the way it is currently. 
the endgame of hardcore wasnt designed at all, the mode was entirely built around leveling and the original founders didnt really consider the endgame at all

The endgame of hardcore was designed. A long time ago. It is the same as the regular game BUT, with a twist 
IF you died you don’t get to respawn. It is very simple actually.
the leveling aspect was thought out, the endgame is just the classic endgame with no changes. ie petri wasnt considered at all
