đŸ‘» While you are doing forum maintenance

It’s Blizzard’s sandbox. Deal with it.

When and if they have a need for additional forums, they’ll implement them

Don’t kid yourself, they’ll have time played metrics for the accounts on the different games. It’ll get easier when they launch a new expansion, anyone only staying for classic won’t buy it.

RE: vitriol, that only exists if we make it that way. I came to WoW out of curiosity, I stayed in part because of the people I met. Stow the “go back to retail” comments and answer people’s questions, and we can diffuse the tension.

Can you give an example of a thread in classic where the OP was both not an obvious troll and had a genuine question, who was confronted with vitriol?

Now consider all of the threads that mentioned classic in GD that were moved into here, and all of the vitriol they were met with by modern wow players there.

Take it a step further and imagine if classic players go to the existing class forums with questions. How do you imagine that will play out for the tone of those threads and how it will impact moderation duties.

And the entire time they are gathering metrics and analyzing them the entire forum will be on meltdown. OR, they could simply be proactive and take a few moments to create classic subforums, avoiding all of the need for analyzing metrics and the meltdown of the forums.

No sooner. Maybe later. But it will be their need, not yours. Melt downs on the forums don’t mean a thing except to moderators. And the new forums make their job immensely easier.

I’d love to have realm forums.

A nice start would be realm names with differentiation of PVP, PVE, RP and RPPVP.

Personally I believe there’ll eventually be (under the Classic heading) :
This one as a GD
Class forums
And realm forums.

Blizz may prove me wrong.

Classic without realm forums is a cluster
we definitely will need realm forums.

I agree. That’s why I think they need class ones too. “Sharing” existing ones will just create friction between live and classic players. Creating another cluster for moderators to deal with.

I just don’t see them implementing them now. Blizz doesn’t have a need for them. It’s
tidier (?) for them to keep discussion and feedback in one place. Perhaps closer to launch. To encourage a sense of community.

BNET tags next to avatars would also be a good idea.
