TBC - Karazhan. Also Stormherald before the qq.
Wrath - the sense of a real existential threat. Ulduar and Icecrown raiding. I was raiding 10 and 25 man normal and heroic on two characters each week. It was awesome. Also dual wield frost DK tanking; fun was detected so rip.
Cataclysm - the world got wrecked. Boo.
MoP - Brewmaster tanking was awesome. Pandaria was cool, the game felt a little more happy. Also the start of ruining what should have been an amazing character, Garrosh.
WoD - Garrosh ruined completely. Also the hell with that train instance.
Legion - brought back that immense, impending sense of doom we had with Wrath. Demon hunters go zoom. Also tbe last expansion I thought I would ever play.
BfA l, Shafowlands, DF - nah, I was done with WoW for good. Or so I thought.
TWW - hey wth why is my Shadowpriest’s dagger from Legion taking over the world? I came back in November to give the game a 30 day tryout and it was fun enough that I started playing again for real.
Best: Legion/Wotlk/TBC so much memories..
The rest? Zero memories actually mid expansions.
Started in Cata, so I’ll start there.
Cata: Goblins, they were the highlight of the entire expansion for me.
MoP: Pretty much everything except the dailies.
WoD: Tanaan Jungle was actually pretty fun.
Legion: Argus was effectively a whole questing zone for max level players without the usual “Come back every week” formula.
BfA: Kul Tiras had some decent moments
Shadowlands: Coming back and exploring Zereth Mortis near the expansion’s end.
DF: Pretty much everything, when it came out it topped MoP for my #1 expansion.
TWW: Undermine - don’t get me wrong, TWW was almost a direct upgrade from DF, but Undermine felt like it I was the sole target audience - everything about it from the story, the atmosphere, the driving… all of it was just 10/10.
